✨ Project Completed – Francis Chappell & Sons Rebranding Works ✨

We’re delighted to share the successful completion of shopfront rebranding and refurbishment works for Francis Chappell & Sons, part of the Dignity Funerals group.

Our team carried out:
🔹 Removal of existing signage and installation of new branded fascia panels
🔹 Electrical connection of new trough lighting
🔹 Full external redecoration in the updated corporate colour scheme
🔹 Safe and efficient on-site management throughout all phases of work

Structural remediation and silicone render protection – completed works 🧱

Following initial inspection that identified reinforced concrete spalling, corrosion, and water ingress across lintels and soffits, full remedial works have now been successfully completed.

🧰 Technical scope of works:

• Mechanical removal of defective concrete and friable substrate.

• Cleaning and passivation of exposed reinforcement using corrosion inhibitor.

• Reinstatement using polymer-modified repair mortar, ensuring full encapsulation and bond.

• Application of silicone-based render system to provide a vapour permeable, hydrophobic, and UV-stable protective coating.

The silicone render finish provides enhanced water repellency while maintaining breathability, significantly reducing future moisture ingress and carbonation risk.

This intervention restores both the structural integrity and service life of the reinforced elements while maintaining aesthetic compatibility with the surrounding brick façade.

Durable repair outcomes depend on correct substrate preparation, corrosion control, and the use of compatible repair and coating systems designed for long-term environmental exposure.

A week of diverse technical works across FPPS sites 🔧⚡️🏗️

The FPPS team has been carrying out a variety of specialist maintenance and compliance tasks across multiple residential and commercial properties, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational integrity.

This week’s works included:
🔹 Plumbing system alterations - copper pipework modifications and drainage connections in line with WRAS standards.
🔹 Electrical testing and verification - insulation resistance and voltage checks to BS 7671 standards using calibrated test equipment.
🔹 Roof investigations and repairs - identifying and isolating moisture ingress through layered felt systems.
🔹 Vegetation management - controlled removal of invasive growth to prevent structural and drainage impact.
🔹 Lighting replacements and upgrades - ensuring energy efficiency and compliance with emergency lighting requirements.
🔹 External cleaning and maintenance - restoring walkways and drainage areas to maintain safe access routes.

Pleased to share another successful restoration project recently completed in London, delivering a full external refurbishment package for this beautiful period property.

Our scope of works included:
🔹 Full façade repointing using traditional lime mortar (1:1:6 mix)
🔹 Masonry and render repairs, including crack stitching and cornice restoration
🔹 Timber joinery repairs to sills and frames, primed and repainted
🔹 Replacement and redecoration of rainwater goods and cast-iron pipework
🔹 Cleaning, treatment, and redecoration of all external surfaces
🔹 Full gutter and drainage system inspection and cleaning
🔹 Cable management and removal of redundant wiring for a clean finish

This project combined heritage sensitive methods with modern standards of safety and quality, ensuring the building remains protected and visually true to its original character.
