We got called out this week to take a look at this Main Eco Compact. The customer was constantly having to top up the pressure, and there were signs of a leak underneath the casing.

When we opened it up and got the tools out, we quickly found the culprits:
1️⃣ The expansion vessel had gone completely flat. Because the water had nowhere to expand when it got hot, it was blowing straight past the Pressure Relief Valve (PRV), causing a constant drip outside.
2️⃣ The condensate elbow underneath the boiler had melted and was leaking water.

We stripped out the faulty parts, installed a brand-new PRV, and fitted a new condensate elbow to stop the internal leak. We then recharged the expansion vessel back to the correct manufacturer pressure settings, re-pressurised the system, and thoroughly tested it.

No more leaks, no more dropping pressure, and one very happy customer back up and running with reliable heat and hot water! ✅🔥

🚨 Out of sight, out of mind? Why annual boiler checks are an absolute must! 🚨

We recently visited a customer to check over this Alpha boiler. It was firing up, the radiators were getting hot, and everything seemed completely normal from the inside.

But when we inspected the external flue, we found a severely rusted and degraded flue. ❌

Why is this a massive issue?
A rusted flue might just look like a bit of weather damage, but it is a serious safety hazard. The flue is responsible for safely carrying exhaust gases (including Carbon Monoxide) away from your home. When it rusts through, it risks leaking those harmful fumes, while also letting rainwater pour directly into the boiler's electrics!

The Fix: 👨‍🔧
We safely installed a brand-new, tightly sealed Alpha flue system. Once fitted, we ran a full Flue Gas Analysis (FGA) to retest the system and guarantee it was burning 100% cleanly and safely venting outside. ✅💨

To the untrained eye, everything looked fine... But looks can be deceiving when it comes to gas safety!

We were called out to a local doctor's surgery this week to carry out a routine annual service on this Vaillant boiler. The heating was on, the hot water was running, and to the untrained eye, the boiler seemed perfectly healthy.

But as Gas Safe engineers, we don't just check if a boiler turns on—we look for the hidden dangers. 🔍

During our safety checks, we uncovered a serious underlying issue with the flue and the main flue seals. Over time, the seals had degraded, causing the boiler to spill dangerous products of combustion back into the casing. Left undetected, this made the appliance completely unsafe to run. ❌💨

Given the location, we knew we had to act fast. A doctor's surgery can't be left with no hot water, but safety always comes first.

👨‍🔧 We immediately isolated the boiler to make the building safe.
🔄 Stripped down the system and replaced the faulty flue sections along with brand-new, high-temperature manufacturer flue seals.

We were called out to a Baxi boiler this week after the homeowner noticed two classic warning signs: a visible leak pooling under the casing and hot water that kept going cold and cutting out intermittently. ❌💦

Leaving a boiler leak can quickly ruin the internal electronics, so we got straight to work diagnosing the root causes:

🔄 The Hot Water Issue: We stripped out the plate heat exchanger and found it blocked up with sludge, we replaced the plate heat exchanger and recommend a system flush to prevent further problems in the future

🎈 The Leak Issue: The leak was caused by a failed Diverter cartridge. We stripped out the old one and replaced it before it could cause anymore damage to the electric actuator.
