Another chilly room sorted in Thornton! 🥶🔥

We love it when the power of social media connects us with great local customers! This customer found our page right here on Facebook, dropped us a quick message, and got booked straight in to solve a cold spot in their home.

The Job:
They needed an extra radiator added to their current system to finally give the landing the heat it needed.We carefully lifted the floors, were able to neatly make onto the existing pipework and refit the floor and carpet.

🔥 Boiler running when it shouldn’t be? Here’s a quick look behind the scenes of today’s emergency call-out! 🛠️

We were called out to a customer's home today because their central heating was coming on every time they turned on the hot water—definitely not what you want during a mild autumn!

After running some diagnostics and tracing the system's wiring and pipework, we found the culprit:
A faulty zone valve had failed and was stuck open. This was letting hot water flow right into the radiator circuit when the boiler fired up for the hot water tank.

Thankfully, we keep our vans fully stocked! We were able to replace the faulty zone valve on-site right then and there, test the system, and get everything back up and running perfectly.

Now our customer has total control over their heating and hot water just in time for the colder months ahead. 🧊➡️🔥

Hidden leaks are every homeowner's worst nightmare, but they don't always have to end in disaster! 💧🕵️‍♂️

We were called out to a leak this week, that we had tracked straight under a customer's laminate flooring. Finding a leak under a finished floor is always stressful, but we pride ourselves on doing the job properly and with as little destruction as possible!

Here is how we sorted it:

🪵 Careful Removal: Instead of just smashing through the floorboards, we took the time to carefully unclick and lift the laminate so that as much of it as possible could be saved and reused.

🔧 The Proper Fix: Once we exposed the culprit, we completely cut out the faulty section and repaired the pipework properly in solid copper so it will outlast the floor above it!

Because we managed to save a lot of the original floor, and the customer luckily had a few spare boards tucked away, they are going to relay the floor themselves now that the area is completely dry. A great result that saved them paying out for a full new floor!

Instead of messing around with fussy replacements, the customer decided to keep things simple, practical, and leak-free by switching to standard TRVs (Thermostatic Radiator Valves).

Dripping Worcester boiler? We’ve got the parts on board! 🚐💧

We were called out to a customer today dealing with a leak on their Worcester boiler. After stripping it down and doing a quick investigation, we tracked the drip straight down to a faulty flow turbine adaptor.

The Fix:
Nobody wants to be told they have to wait three days for a part to arrive in the post while their boiler continues to leak! Because we carry a comprehensive van stock of common parts, we had a brand-new genuine Worcester flow turbine adaptor sitting right in the back of the van.

We swapped the leaking part out, reassembled the boiler, and got it fully watertight and back up and running there and then. A true first-time fix with zero waiting around! 🎯🔥

A small leak can cause a big headache! 💧🔧

We were called out to a customer this week who had a broken and constantly leaking Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV). Not only was it making a mess of their floor and dropping the boiler pressure, but it was also stopping the radiator from working properly!

The Fix:
We drained down, stripped out the old snapped valve, and fitted a brand-new, high-quality TRV in its place.

Once the new valve was fitted, we re-pressurised the boiler, bled the system, and got the central heating fired straight back up.

The result? No more puddles and a lovely, warm house once again! 🏠🔥

We had a customer reach out this week because their kitchen had no radiator at all, leaving it absolutely freezing. With the colder weather creeping in, no one wants to be cooking or making their morning coffee in a winter coat!

We got straight to work designing a solution to get the room toasty and warm.

Here is exactly what we did:
* 🛠️ New Radiator Installed: We sited and fitted a brand new radiator perfectly sized to heat the kitchen space.

* 🛠️ System Linked Up: To get the new setup supplied with hot water, we renewed and re-routed the pipework from the living room radiator, cleanly teeing off to connect the new kitchen rad into the main central heating circuit.

The result? Fantastic flow rates, a balanced system, and a brilliantly warm kitchen just in time for winter! 🔥

Cold house and no heating? Sometimes the culprit isn't the boiler at all! 🥶🔥

We were called out to a customer who had woken up to a cold home and zero central heating. When your heating stops working, it’s easy to fear the worst and assume the boiler has completely packed up—but proper diagnostics quickly reveal the real issue!

The Diagnosis: After running our checks, the boiler itself was actually completely fine. The issue was a broken room thermostat that had stopped sending a signal to tell the boiler to turn on.

The Fix:
No waiting around in the cold for parts to be ordered! We carry quality controls on the van as standard stock, so we stripped out the faulty thermostat and installed a brand-new, modern EPH thermostat right there and then.

Within minutes of wiring it up and setting the controls, the boiler fired straight back up, and the house was warm in no time! 🔧⚡

Hot radiators when you only want to wash the dishes? 🚰🔥

We got a call from a customer this week who noticed their radiators were getting piping hot every time they ran the hot water tap. We headed over to investigate their Baxi boiler and quickly found the culprit!

The Diagnosis:
After running a few tests, we found the diverter valve had failed and was beginning to leak. Unfortunately, the water had dripped directly onto the actuator (the motor that switches the boiler between heating and hot water)

The Fix:
Because we carry common boiler parts as standard van stock, we didn't have to leave the customer waiting days for a delivery! We stripped out the old, leaking diverter valve and the damaged actuator, and fitted brand-new replacements right there and then.

Boiler sorted, no more leaks, and no more boiling hot radiators when running the kitchen tap! 🔧🚐
