Metro Rod Lincolnshire & Peterborough are looking for a **Trainee Drainage Engineer** to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to learn a skilled trade. **Previous drainage experience is not required**, as full training will be provided.

You'll work alongside experienced drainage engineers while learning how to investigate, clear, maintain and repair drainage systems across a variety of domestic and commercial sites.

# # # What You'll Learn

As your training progresses, you'll gain experience in:

* High-pressure water jetting and blockage clearance
* CCTV drainage surveys
* Drain cleaning and maintenance
* Using specialist drainage machinery and equipment
* Identifying drainage defects and faults
* Basic drainage repairs and remedial works
* Completing job reports and site documentation
* Working safely on domestic and commercial sites
* Providing a professional service to customers

We're looking for someone who is:

* Reliable, punctual and willing to learn
* Comfortable with physical and outdoor work
* Happy working in all weather conditions
* Practical and able to use their initiative
* Confident dealing with customers

* Flexible regarding working hours when required

A **full UK driving licence is essential**.

Salary will be **dependent on the successful applicant's age and previous experience** and will be discussed during the interview process.

• Conduct repair works including patch lining, excavation and reinstatement (where required)
• Support tanker operations including gully emptying, interceptor cleaning, desilting and waste transfer (if qualified)
• Complete job sheets, photos, RAMS compliance, and customer paperwork accurately
• Uphold Metro Rod’s service standards and Health & Safety policies
• Participate in the on-call rota to support 24/7 emergency coverage
Skills & Experience (Desirable)
• Previous experience in drainage, plumbing, utilities, waste management, or groundworks
• HPWJ certification / experience
• Confined Space certification
• Streetworks Signing, Lighting, Gaurding (NRSWA)
• CSCS Card
• HGV Class 2 / Tanker experience (advantage but not essential)
