The dreaded Horsham stone!

Called out to a property in cuckfield that has suffered with a long standing leak on their beautiful Horsham stone roof. A few roofers have attempted repairs but to no avail.

Upon inspection we noticed a problem area where the Horsham stone meets the timber cladding to the dorma.

Cladding ripped off, 300mm code 4 lead flashing installed & new timber cladding put back on.

PROBLEM SOLVED. No water ingress since works has been completed (and we have had some biblical weather)!

Efficiency.

Scaffold erected Tuesday.

Fascia, soffit, guttering & downpipes replaced Wednesday and Thursday.

Scaffold down Friday.

Craig David would be proud of that.

You wouldn’t have even known we had been (minus the beautiful roofline works & echoes of our terrible singing).

Collins Roofline to the rescue!

Customer contacted us a couple of weeks ago stating that water was coming through their ceiling and light fittings.

We got out there the same day and covered it with tarpaulin, nothing could have been done that day in biblical weather.

Fast forward two weeks and the rain finally stopped for a day, giving us the chance to get to business!

The original roof had a few problem areas.

-Wrong tiles for the pitch of the roof
-Incorrectly installed lead flashing
-No kick on the first tile, resulting in sagging of the first course of tiles and a big gap to the second course.
-Poorly mortared verges.
-Downpipe from the roof above going through this roof.

Enough issues to scare anyone, but Collins Roofline fears no roof.

The only dry day this year resulted in being both a Saturday & Valentine’s Day. Mrs Collins Roofline was not best pleased however needs must.

A big thank you to Sam @ Mitchell Roofing services who came with us on the day, to ensure that we got the job watertight.

Another big thanks to Brian Gow Roofing Supplies, who supplied all the materials & delivered them for us!

-New Breathable membrane & treated battens.
-New low pitch Marley mendip tiles.
-New code 4 lead flashings
-new fascia created in order to give the first course of tiles the appropriate kick.
-new uPVC gutters & downpipes to both the upper elevation and lower elevation.
