Today we profile Autumn Arcus and her sponsor AquaTech Mechanical Solutions Ltd.

Autumn has always enjoyed playing football with her friends since a young age, joining the previous Shetland girls football team under coach John Ward in 2009. Unfortunately she had to stop playing around in 2013 due to poor health. Fast-forward to 2019, her cousin Anya persuaded Autumn to join the re-formed women's team and she has enjoyed playing ever since!

Autumn has put in a tremendous effort in training over the winter, effort which carries over into her performances on the pitch where she has become a dependable and trusted member of our defence. Autumn’s teammates and coaches appreciate her never-surrender commitment, evidenced by her teammates recently voting her player of the match following a very difficult friendly versus Ness U16 boys.

Next up we profile Anya Arcus and her sponsor AquaTech Mechanical Solutions Ltd.

Anya is a relative latecomer to football through no fault of her own. With the previous incarnation of the Shetland women’s team folding around 2015 and this club starting as a girls club in 2017, Anya was caught in the gap between. Anya got her chance to play when the Shetland Valkyries womens team made early efforts to restart senior women’s football in 2019. This ultimately lead to the merger of the two clubs in 2023 to form our current club.

Anya is a canny and competitive midfielder with a rapid turn of pace and great willingness to close down opposition, allowing quick transition from defence to attack. Quick witted and never short of anything to say, she could be described as the “squad joker” but is more the “shop steward” of the players union, with the wellbeing of her teammates always at the forefront of her thoughts.

🔥 District Heating 🔥

Last year we carried out a project which involved the installation of a new District Heating unit for testing at Shetland Heat Energy and Power.
This unit, as you can see on the left of the photo, is far more compact than regular district heating units, making it ideal for homes with space restrictions.

A couple weeks ago we were tasked with carrying out a much needed upgrade at the Lerwick hotel, we replaced an old copper calorifier with a shiny new stainless one.

Both calorifier and pipework were heavily corroded, as well as the electrical side of things being very dated.

Along with George Robertson Ltd we were able to provide a much more efficient, quieter system and peace of mind from any bookings being affected by a potential burst tank.
