A successful night for BAM North East winning two awards at the Leeds Apprenticeship Awards!
Lee Spark, one of the BAM apprentices at Leeds Arena won Apprentice of the Year in the Intermediate Category and BAM shared the top award of the night for Apprentice Ambassador with Gordons llp.
The awards were held at a sold out Leeds Civic Hall and were a great celebration of the work undertaken at Leeds Arena.
BAM Construction North East directly supported five apprentices in our organisation in 2012. However BAM’s Leeds office supported 90 apprentices through our supply chain. 22 of the apprentices were newly recruited for our major project in the region – the recently completed Leeds Arena. All 90 of these apprentices have had the chance to gain experience on one of the region’s most exciting and high profile construction developments in the region.
The awards highlight the work of excellent apprentices, those organisations who are committed to offering quality Apprenticeships, and those that champion Apprenticeships and make a positive difference to the city. The awards are delivered by Leeds City Council in partnership with Leeds City College, Leeds College of Building and National Apprenticeship Service.
Alice Winter, from the Leeds Employment and Skills department, said “The event was a resounding success and a great opportunity to celebrate the success of apprentices, businesses and Apprenticeship ambassadors in the city. A record number of 92 nominations were received this year which were all of a very high standard.”
