Headlines like this happen when safety becomes optional.

The nets and edge protection in our photo aren't optional extras. They are the difference between a normal day at work and a tragedy.

Let's look at the brutal facts from the HSE:

👉 Falls from height remain the #1 cause of fatal workplace injury in Great Britain.

👉 They account for a staggering 53% of all fatal injuries in construction (2020/21–2024/25).

👉 Last year alone, 31 workers lost their lives falling from height.

These aren’t just statistics. They are life-changing injuries, families shattered, and people who never came home.

Sure, someone else might quote you a cheaper price to put your building up.

But ask yourself what they're cutting to get that number down.

When you work at height, cutting corners isn’t a saving.

Check out this calf shed we have recently completed for a customer just in time for autumn calving.
This was an interesting build where the customer was looking for a system that would hold calves from week one up to over a year old. They settled on an initial 15 x 30ft pen with a double acting front gate which opened up to latch across the scrape passage allowing tmr to be fed in the feed passage once the cattle have got big enough. This provides a versatile system with minimal disturbance to animals during their time in the shed.
Features include:
✨17 degree pitch roof and open protected ridge for maximum ventilation.
✨Hit and miss cladding with a gap above and 2ft overhang to produce good airflow through the shed.
✨6ft poured concrete walls all round
✨2ft feed walls with adjustable height feed barrier tubes
✨Sliding doors at both ends of feed passage with personnel door built in.
✨Hanging doors into scrape passages and pens for cleaning out.
✨4ft dividing gates fitted with stock boarding to minimise contact between pens with a drop post between.
✨Double acting front gates with built in water trough and fencing at the front of pens
