Foundations poured, ready for these beautiful Cumbrian stone walls to start taking shape. 🤍

I couldn’t resist creating a quick visual of how it might look once complete… now let’s see how closely it compares to the real thing when the stonemason has worked his magic! 😍

This charming countryside cottage is beginning its next chapter 🌿

Now on site, our design will transform it into a generous family home, carefully balancing new space with the character that makes the original cottage special.

Extensions approved under permitted development rights will connect the home more closely to its gardens and countryside setting. Natural materials, oak framing and thoughtfully proportioned details will bring warmth and continuity, while integrated solar panels support a more energy-efficient home.

A new double garage and larger outbuilding will create space for leisure and wellness, alongside welcoming outdoor areas for family life.

We look forward to sharing progress as the design takes shape!

If you’re considering a countryside home or a carefully considered extension, we’d love to hear what you have in mind.

It’s an incredibly busy and exciting time in the studio, with several projects preparing to start on site.

We’re currently making sure every piece of construction information is carefully coordinated, final design decisions are resolved and those inevitable last-minute changes are incorporated - giving our builders the clarity they need to bring each design to life beautifully.

This sensitive conservation project is one I’m particularly excited to see built. The proposals will completely transform the relationship between the house and its garden, creating a considered contemporary addition that respects the character and architectural integrity of the original home.

Thoughtful design, careful detailing and close collaboration throughout construction make all the difference - and I can’t wait to watch this one take shape 👌

Loving this beautifully crafted detail, now completed on site. 😍

These bespoke sliding doors were designed as part of the architectural concept to create beautifully adaptable living spaces - gliding effortlessly in both directions to offer privacy when desired, or opening up to maximise natural light and enhance the visual and spatial connection between rooms, seamlessly extending the living experience towards the spectacular views beyond.

It’s these carefully considered architectural details that transform a house into a truly exceptional home, where everyday living is elevated through thoughtful design.

The beautifully curated interior palette and finishes by James Roberts complete the vision perfectly. 👌

☀️ Happy Saturday! Hope you’re all enjoying a well-earned weekend, whether you’re relaxing at home, exploring somewhere new, or planning your next project.

Here’s one of our recent holiday home designs, created to make the most of its beautiful surroundings while blending contemporary architecture with practical family living.

One thing that’s really important to us is designing the outside spaces as carefully as the building itself. That’s why hard landscaping design is included as standard with all of our projects.
terraces, pathways and driveways to retaining walls, steps and outdoor entertaining areas, we believe the landscape should feel like a natural extension of your home.

Great architecture doesn’t stop at the front door 🌿🏡

Planning approved in just 11 weeks ✨

We're delighted to have secured planning permission for this beautiful countryside home extension.

When we shared this project a few weeks ago, we spoke about the importance of responding to the landscape, enhancing the setting, and creating spaces that connect effortlessly with the views beyond. We're thrilled that vision has now been given the green light.

Projects like this are always a reminder that thoughtful design, careful planning and a clear understanding of context can make all the difference.

A huge thank you to our clients for trusting us with their home, and to everyone involved in helping bring the proposal forward.

We're excited to move into the next stage and can't wait to see this one take shape. 🏡

🎉 This week, Amy Briers Architects celebrates 6 years in business!

What began as a dream to create beautiful, thoughtful homes and spaces has grown into a business that has given me the privilege of working with incredible clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers across Cheshire and beyond.

Over the last six years, I've helped homeowners, families, businesses and developers transform properties, secure planning permissions, navigate complex projects and bring their visions to life.

Every project is a collaboration, and I'm always grateful for the trust my clients place in me.

A huge thank you to all of my clients, past and present, and to the consultants, engineers, planners, surveyors, contractors and fellow professionals whose expertise and support have been invaluable along the way. 🤝

Most importantly, thank you to my family and friends for their unwavering encouragement, patience and belief in me throughout the journey. ❤️

Running a business is never a solo effort, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of the last six years.

🏡 Here's to the next chapter, exciting new projects, and continuing to create inspiring places for people to live, work and enjoy.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

✅ PLANNING APPROVED! 🎉

We're delighted to have secured planning permission for the transformation of this tired Welsh holiday bungalow on the beautiful Llŷn Peninsula into a stunning, energy-efficient coastal retreat.

➡️ Swipe to see the before photos!

The existing property suffered from overheating, poor thermal performance and a layout that no longer met the needs of modern family living. Our design increases the floor area to create generous open-plan family and social spaces, alongside the additional bedrooms and bathrooms needed for comfortable holiday accommodation.

A key part of the design was strengthening the connection between the home and its surroundings, creating seamless links to both the front and rear gardens while maximising opportunities to enjoy views towards the sea.

The result will be a warm, attractive and cosy holiday home, designed for year-round enjoyment and within walking distance of the beach - the perfect place for families and friends to relax, unwind and create lasting memories!

If you're considering extending, renovating or completely transforming your home, we'd love to help bring your vision to life.

Planning submitted ✨

We feel incredibly lucky to work on projects in such breathtaking locations - where the landscape does so much of the talking, and the role of architecture is simply to respond, enhance, and frame those views beautifully.

This scheme has been carefully designed to sit comfortably within its setting, opening up the home to the rolling hillside beyond and creating calm, light-filled spaces that connect effortlessly with the landscape.

Projects like this are always a reminder that great design isn’t about doing more - it’s about doing the right things, in the right place.

We can’t wait to see this one move forward!
