Project Highlight: Kingston University Robotics & AI Facility

Redlands is proud to have recently completed the transformation of a former warehouse into a cutting-edge Robotic Engineering and Artificial Intelligence facility for Kingston University. This state of the art project showcases our ability to deliver complex technical installations in highly specialised environments.

The project involved numerous challenges, particularly working at high levels to install containment systems and accurately set out Dextra linear lighting throughout the space. The existing installation was completely stripped out, allowing for the implementation of a fully modernised infrastructure.

Scope of Works:

- Fire alarm system
- Door access control
- Intruder alarm
- Structured data infrastructure

We worked closely with the wider project team to ensure successful delivery on all fronts.

Redlands successfully designed and delivered a life safety generator and associated services to provide essential backup power for the new firefighter lift and smoke ventilation system. These critical systems ensure life safety compliance for the residential apartments located at roof level.

All works were carefully completed within a fully operational, live six-storey commercial office building, with minimal disruption to the existing tenants and the residents above.

Great work from the team who completed this within a very tight program.

Redlands have successfully completed this technical lab fit-out project at Kingston University’s Roehampton Vale campus.

The project was notable for its fast-track schedule and the various design challenges encountered throughout. A key feature of the project was the installation of adjustable workstations, each equipped with bespoke galvanised trunking, containing over 200 double sockets.

Redlands were responsible for delivering the electrical, fire alarm, security, and data systems as part of this demanding fit-out.
