Some wee jobs over the last few weeks.

Led tapes fitted on underside of worktop was faulty. Fitted new driver and tapes. Same customer I had a look at the faulty external lights. Lovely set up but kept tripping. Managed to locate a few faulty fittings with water ingress, replaced them now looking great again.

Few EICRs carried out from private landlords. Remedial works carried out at these quickly to allow properties to be let.

Kitchen rewire carried out for a private landlord this week for new kitchen getting fitted. Eicr provided.

Emergency call out to investigate tripping electrics turns out to be a cable joined with insulation tape at the back of a fridge.

Wiring to summer houses. Did a few over last couple weeks. Also installed a 5 cable to allow home working in summer house.

Air bnb hot tub wired for a returning customer.

Other wee odd jobs - Outside sockets, relocation of light to centre, decorative lights, rcd changes, loft lighting and whatever else.

Some recent jobs that been carried out by myself.

Done another few EV chargers over last couple weeks in Cumnock and New Cumnock. Check the photo of the near miss from using the plug-in type of ev charger.

Some nice decorative lights fitted for a new customer in Kilmarnock.

Partial rewire carried out after it was identified there was no earthing in a customers new home. Carried this job out with help from my friend Stephen Gillon.

Carried out new build works at a bedroom extension to a property. Certification submitted to be signed off with building control in Ayr.

EICRs carried out for private landlords and council buy backs. See the cooker connection in the photos. Don't know how this even worked without causing a fire or a shock to the user.

Other bits and bobs. Outside lights. Outside sockets. Main board changes. Zappi Ev charger used to tie in with a solar install thus allowing free vehicle charing. Upgrades to earth bonding and everything in between.

Few recent jobs carried out over the last month or so.

Been working on 2 new build properties in East Kilbride. Will get the final testing done on these this week and installation certificates handed over to customer.

EV chargers are coming in thick and fast. I can fit any charger you want if there is a certain one that you fancy. My go to budget charger has been the Project EV. Really easy to set up and represents good value for money. If your on Octopus EV tariff you'll need to fit Zappi, Ohme or Wallbox.

Call out for tripping electrics exposed cables deteriorating again with green goo. Made a temp repair but this install is shot.

Rewire of both lighting circuits and changing of a consumer unit today at a property in Newfarm Kilmarnock. Cables had degraded with the dreaded green goo! A chemical reaction that attacks the cable and melts the insulation into a gooey mess. Luckily this customer noticed it before it became a real issue and contacted me. It started with a funny smell in the consumer unit. I made a temp repair and we returned later to carry out the works.
This work was carried out with my friends from Test My Electrics to give a quick turn for the Client. Thanks Neil Claxton and Arron for the assistance.

Various jobs been carried out recently in and around Ayrshire and Glasgow.

Ohme EV charger. Zappi EV charger and Project EV charger. I also did an Ohme EV charger course. I am now an approved Ohme Installer.

A few consumer unit replacements with Electrical reports carried out at same time to ensure new consumer unit won't give any nuisance tripping when fitted.

Garage conversion to workshop for a customer that repairs large commercial type coffee machines. Thanks for the coffee Charlie!

Been a busy few weeks after the Christmas break. Things starting to pick up for me now. Some new customers, some old. I'm really grateful to you all. Here is a selection of jobs I've carried out recently.

I installed a 7k Zappi EV charger. These chargers are the business! Easy to install and set up and are compatible with other renewable technology. This one was inspected away back in November but the mains cable required upgrading. Scottish Power managed this without any damage to the new driveway. I followed with the install a few weeks later.

A long overdue consumer unit change was carried out at Kilmaurs. Old rewire fuses replaced with a Fuesbox split load with surge protection. Full electrical report carried out prior to works for this one to ensure there was no issues with fitting the new consumer unit. I did have some remedial works before we could power this one up due to existing faults on the installation.

Aga cooker circuit wired in a rural cottage at New Cumnock after previous specialist installer had wired it into a double socket. I run a dedicated circuit and connected it as per manufacturer's instructions. Looks great and much safer now!

Been busy recently. Here are a few wee jobs i have carried out.

Consumer unit upgrade. New board with RCBOs and surge protection. This gives great protection for all your expensive appliances and reduces nuisance tripping.

Smoke alarms upgraded. For this system supplied I used Aico detectors, which have a 10 year guarantee. These were all wireless, interlinked and still meet the new standards. No mess of having to damage decor to get wiring to each point.

Additional sockets. Extra socket installed so both sides of bed have a power point to charge your phone or a nice bedside lamp.

Oil boiler wired up in a rural property. The customer requested this was wired via a stat and time clock but also to have a plug top in case off power cut they could use a generator to power the heating.

Something different as well. Carried out a tv aerial install. Supplied power to a booster and connected the aerial points from each room.
