They'd just got the keys and the neighbour had been watching rats run through this.

Half a day, £300, no waste removal. Bamboo coming through from next door which is going to be a problem for someone. How much would you have charged for this one?

The old guy who lives here used to do the exact same job as me. He cut this hedge himself for years, now he can’t, and it hadn’t been touched in about two years.
Conifer hedge in Kidwelly, an hour’s work for £100. His wife messaged me to come and quote it, and they’d moved half the pots and put sheeting down on the gravel before I even turned up.
What would you have charged for this?

🏡The Client’s Two Children Couldn't Play Out in Their Own Garden Safely Because of the Brambles and Hawthorn (Garden Clearance in Llanelli)

Went out to a garden where the brambles had crept out onto the lawn and the hawthorn had taken over the whole side wall, right up to the gate. The bloke works away and has young kids, so the garden had ended up last on the list, which is how it goes for most people.

We found metal wire buried in the middle of it while I was brushcutting, which is exactly why you don't just blitz ground like this with a flail. You never know what's under there. Wire, metal, breeze blocks, compost bins.

Got the bushes down, cleared the path and the side gate, left the nice trees in and took the brambles right back. He took the waste away himself, we put a treatment down, and he had us back doing his lawn every two weeks after this one.

What would you have charged for a job like this?

🏡 They inherited this garden and couldn’t get round the back of their own house.

The old boy who lived here kept it spotless himself for years. He passed away, and it’s got away completely since. There’s a building site next door and it looks like the scaffolders have been lobbing everything they didn’t want over into the bush, so it was full of bricks, poles, metal clips and old fencing. Blades only, no flail. £460 for the lot and they very kindly added a £50 tip.

Found a path under all the overgrowth, the son in law says he hasn’t seen in over 10 years.

🗞️A full week of hedges across Carmarthenshire in 90 seconds. Flash warning, lots of quick cuts.

Pontyates, Kidwelly, Burry Port and Llanelli, all in one week. Most of these hadn’t been touched in over a year and a couple had brambles growing right the way through the middle of them.☘️🌿

A lot of people hold off on their hedges until the nesting season is out of the way, so from here to Christmas is going to be flat out.

No talking on this one, just the work.💪🏻

. 2 Years of Growth Gone in 90 Seconds
⚠️ Flash Warning ⚠️

This one was mad. A company got given the back door key nearly 2 years ago to clear this garden, then lost it. He only got a new one cut recently, and by then the gate was blocked by a massive tree so there was no way in at all. Not his fault whatsoever.

He'd been cutting the brambles back off his own window with a butter knife from the inside. That's the bit that got me.

9:30 til 5:30, me and Callum, blades and hedge cutters. Found patios and concrete paths under there nobody knew were still there. £530 including the waste. His mother left us cold bottles of water in the fridge which was needed in that heat, and reckons I carried 10 machines through her door she'd never seen before.

He's having it maintained fortnightly now so it never gets back to this.

What would you do with it now it's clear? I read every comment.

📌 The client works full time and he’s raising two kids on his own, so the garden never stood a chance. Rusty gate that wouldn’t budge, brambles like barbed wire, and the kids couldn’t get out there to play at all.

Once we started knocking it down we found fences and boundaries nobody had seen in years, a shed with the roof caving in, an old paddling pool full of stinking water, paths under the lawn we had no idea were there, and a b**r tap buried in the middle of it. Turns out he fits b**r taps for a living.

£440 for the lot, no waste charge, piled it up in the flower bed ready for him to burn. Rained on us right at the end, obviously.

He’s doing the hedges himself with his old man, he just wanted us in for the worst of it.

🌿 Front garden tidy up for an old lady in Carmarthenshire 🌿 She’s not able to get out to it herself and her granddaughter, who’s her carer, got in touch.

Three self seeded trees off the driveway, grass taken back in two passes, path cleared and sprayed. Found a proper old Victorian border under it that somebody put real work into once.

A neighbour walked past at the end and said “oh she’s finally got her grass cut”.

The Hedge Ate the Path!

The hedge here had grown out that far it had taken the whole path with it, so the only way this fella could get to his own back gate was to walk across the grass. It hadn’t been touched in a good while, all straggly, all out of shape, and he just hasn’t got the time or the machines to pull something like that back.

He watches these videos, that’s how he found me. Sent me a couple of photos, said the gate’s open and go and have a look.

Took about three foot off the top, rolled the sides back in so it doesn’t look straggly, cleared the path and cut the lawn. £220 for the hedge with all the waste taken away and £30 for the lawn, two hours in and out. We had another big clearance a couple of doors down the same day as well, so two jobs on one street.
