Most people know The DIY Man Oxford for painting, decorating, flooring, carpentry and home improvements…

But many of you also know I have a real passion for wildlife and conservation, especially hedgehogs.

After months of designing, building and testing, I’m proud to introduce my handcrafted Hedgehog Cottage™.

These aren’t mass-produced hedgehog houses. Every one is individually handcrafted using quality timber and carefully designed to give hedgehogs a safe, dry and secure place to nest.

🦔 Predator-resistant entrance tunnel leading to a protected nesting chamber.

🏡 Spacious nesting area with an internal baffle for added security.

From a tired, dated room with an unused fireplace to a bright, modern living space.

For this project we carried out:

🔨 Removal of the old fireplace and making the chimney breast ready for a modern finish.
🎨 Full preparation of all walls and ceilings, including filling and repairs.
🖌️ Complete redecoration throughout in a fresh, timeless colour scheme.
🪵 Installation of beautiful Ash Oak water-resistant laminate flooring.
📏 New skirting boards fitted throughout for a crisp, clean finish.

It’s amazing how removing an old feature, choosing the right colours and installing new flooring can completely change the feel of a room. The finished result is brighter, more spacious and ready for many years of family life.

🚨 Full Bungalow Transformation! 🚨

We’ve just finished an amazing renovation throughout this entire bungalow! 💪 We started by ripping out all the old 80's wallpaper—yes, even from the ceilings! We also removed the carpet, doors, skirting boards and even had to chip up the old cork flooring. Every wall needed attention, with repairs, fresh paint, and a full redecoration across the hallway, living room, bedrooms, and rear living room. 🎨

Big shoutout to my incredible wife, Shoana, for helping me with this HUGE job! With so much to do, we were working hard to get everything finished on time, and we did it! 🙌

But that's not all! We laid beautiful oak laminate flooring, new skirting boards all the way from the hallway through to the living spaces, creating a seamless and stylish finish throughout.

A busy week of painting and decorating wrapped up 🎨
Three bedrooms transformed in five different colours, including two feature walls and crisp white paintwork throughout. We also replaced all the light switches and sockets to give everything a clean, modern finish.

I’ve added some before and after photos so you can really see the transformation 👀✨
