It’s been a little while since I last posted, so here are three recent projects completed at three different properties:

🏡 A great before-and-after transformation to the front of a house, freshly painted and looking clean and smart again.

🪵 A new light oak, water-resistant laminate floor installed in a conservatory, giving the room a bright and modern finish.

🎨 A hall, stairs and landing fully painted and decorated, creating a fresh new look throughout.

📅 I’m now taking bookings for November, so if you’re planning any painting, decorating, flooring or general home improvements, please get in touch:

🏠 HALLWAY & STAIRS TRANSFORMATION – BEFORE & AFTER! 🏠

A job completed a few weeks ago and what a difference! 👌

This hallway, stairs and landing were given a complete refresh:

🪚 Thoroughly sanded and prepared
🎨 Walls, ceilings and woodwork freshly painted
🪵 New light oak laminate flooring fitted throughout the hallway
🔨 New skirting boards fitted to finish everything off

The preparation on this one was certainly a job in itself — just look at those before photos! 😅 But the finished result is bright, clean and completely transforms the entrance to the home.

If your hallway, stairs or any other part of your home could do with a freshen up, get in touch for a free quotation.

🦔 Introducing the Hedgehog Cottage™ by The DIY Man Oxford 🦔

Most people know The DIY Man Oxford for painting, decorating, flooring, carpentry and home improvements…

But many of you also know I have a real passion for wildlife and conservation, especially hedgehogs.

After months of designing, building and testing, I’m proud to introduce my handcrafted Hedgehog Cottage™.

These aren’t mass-produced hedgehog houses. Every one is individually handcrafted using quality timber and carefully designed to give hedgehogs a safe, dry and secure place to nest.

Features include:

🦔 Predator-resistant entrance tunnel leading to a protected nesting chamber.

🏡 Spacious nesting area with an internal baffle for added security.

🌧️ Heavy-duty weatherproof roof with mineral felt.

🪵 Solid timber construction, built to last.

🔧 Lift-off roof for easy annual cleaning.

❤️ Handmade with wildlife in mind.

The biggest test wasn’t whether I liked the design…

It was whether the hedgehogs did!

I’m delighted to say that both of my prototype Hedgehog Cottages now have permanent residents, and I’ve included photos of one happily using its new home. Seeing that made all the time and effort worthwhile.

Available to order

🦔 The Hedgehog Cottage™ – £225

Or…

📹 The Hedgehog Cottage™ Camera Edition – £475

This includes a discreet Wi-Fi camera professionally installed inside the nesting chamber, allowing you to watch your resident hedgehogs live from your phone without disturbing them.

To maintain quality, I’ll only be building four cottages in this first batch.

These aren’t designed to compete with cheap, mass-produced wildlife houses. They’re built for people who genuinely want to make a difference and give one of Britain’s most loved mammals a safe place to call home.

If you’d like to reserve one of the first four, just send The DIY Man Oxford a message.

🦔 Helping homeowners… and now helping wildlife too.

🏡 Another Room Completely Transformed! ✨

From a tired, dated room with an unused fireplace to a bright, modern living space.

For this project we carried out:

🔨 Removal of the old fireplace and making the chimney breast ready for a modern finish.
🎨 Full preparation of all walls and ceilings, including filling and repairs.
🖌️ Complete redecoration throughout in a fresh, timeless colour scheme.
🪵 Installation of beautiful Ash Oak water-resistant laminate flooring.
📏 New skirting boards fitted throughout for a crisp, clean finish.

It’s amazing how removing an old feature, choosing the right colours and installing new flooring can completely change the feel of a room. The finished result is brighter, more spacious and ready for many years of family life.

If you’re looking to modernise your home, whether it’s one room or a complete property makeover, we’d love to help.

🎨 Another Home Brought Back to Life! 🏡

It’s amazing what a fresh colour scheme and the right preparation can do!

This project included:

✅ Filling and repairing damaged walls throughout
✅ Careful preparation of every surface
✅ Full redecoration of the living room, hallway and staircase
✅ Crisp white woodwork for a clean contrast
✅ A fresh, modern sage green colour that completely transforms the feel of the home

Preparation is the part you don’t always see, but it’s what makes the finished result look flawless. Taking the time to fill, sand and prepare properly is the difference between an average job and one that lasts.

I love seeing the transformation from patchy, tired walls to a fresh, modern finish that completely changes the look and feel of a home.

If you’re thinking about updating your home, whether it’s a single room or the whole house, I’d be happy to help.
