Friends of Iain Hughes embark on a 36-hour swim relay to raise money for his chosen charities.

Hi as a lot of people know last year we lost Iain Hughes while swimming the channel , I was lucky enough to call him a friend and his death left everyone that knew and loved him in shock and with a massive void in there lives and we miss him every day , theres Is nothing I can do to take away the loss other than keep his memory alive and keep up some of his charity work , so myself and 47 others will be taking part in a relay 36hr swim for Iain’s chosen charities starting tomorrow at 7am till Friday 7pm,
I started in January thinking I could swim and after 1hr of fighting the water and covering 800m it was back to the drawing board and I had to learn “to swim” from scratch,over the last three months every time I swallowed half the pool and ended up a snotty and coughing mess, or got kicked in the head by a passing Nana , stood at pool end trying to catch mybreath while pretending to clear my goggles all i thought was “this is for Iain”and kept going ,three months on were at a mile in 45mins and aiming for 1700-1800m tomorrows event , so if you can donate that would be great heres the link 👍🏼

Another day another refresher course, Oil and LPG this time, makes a change to have a few days in the class room… Pleased to be back with tools 🛠 in hand today though!
