I keep forgetting to upload stuff from a new project, this is from a previous one but it’s established really well despite the drought, this combination of Verbena. B, Fennel and a tall grass of which I’ve forgotten the name of for now… is simply stunning, it’s one a bank and as it slopes away it opens up to Heleniums, Stipa gigantea, wild camomile, field mallows, Ox eye daisy, sedum and a developing ground cover of geraniums and wild selfheal.

Which I forgot to get a photo of course! However, a gorgeous display of drought tolerant plants on the top of the bank…

Brilliant Mulch

We started creating a proper compost heap for use on the borders last year, expecting to not be using it until next year. But the heap really turned over well, so a mid spring mulch was applied to the long border. Look how lovely and rich it looks! Some happy plants this year no doubt!

Next pic; Futher down the garden we have the more recently planted banks, the geums are already in full swing! Beautiful! But will definitely need a pruning in May to keep them going! I’ve never seen Geums so happy as they are at this place, it still resembles a poppy meadow and will do more so once the Achillea, ox-eye Daisy and giant aster begin to flower along side them!
