Posting on FB is as usual somewhat irregular and since the last one we have been through Christmas and launched into the new year. 2026 looks to be shaping up to be an interesting one.
The BP team remains busy busy and market and Client requirements keep coming along and we do our best to sort them out in the best way we can. Since the last post we have relocated Tim and Jilly to their new seaside residence and the canine team give it a huge thumbs up. Beach and water - happy days. Scenery and views ain’t bad either.
The duck is a resident of Grange and was snapped on the way to the War Memorial before we measured up the towns Public Conveniences - an interesting job for the town Council requiring update Building Insurance Surveys.
And lastly - well - being sons of Ulverston we are aware we are (hopefully affectionately) referred to as this pair - sometimes behind our backs but to those who know us well - to our faces😂
We remain fully available for almost all property related requests and if we can’t accommodate ourselves we will do our best to signpost you in directions to best assist you.

Now some of you may have been a little bemused about the earlier post - Mrs Procter accidentally posted in the Company channel as half of us are attending the annual Ulverston Dick Fest and attired accordingly. Rest assured that the weekend will be a rip roarer as usual and much fun is expected.
A more irregular post will follow along more random Butler Procter lines in due course - have a great weekend one and all.

So after the last post we had been to Arthur Ransomes World War 2 Home - weirdly the first ever “Ransome Fan Club” was formed in Tokyo in 1987!!
We continue busy as seemingly always and recently some large beasties have amused us on our travels - an oversized pooch in Kendal and when Wilf asked the owners what the dog was called it turned out they didn’t even own a real one!! As to the gorilla - well the discovery behind the bush of an overgrown garden was a little perplexing on a rainy morning - not sure whether it rains as a fixture and fitting!!!

The joys of working in the English Lakes - opportune moments……
This morning we surveyed a “legendary” property - home for a number of years to one of the Lakes great authors. As we left we were afforded this view ……. Anyone any ideas where we were???

We feel we probably need to apologise - it’s been so long since we have posted and lots of people keep looking at this ere page - no excuses we are just busy and continuing to look to help people in whatever property way they need. Recently one of our Clients e-mailed and thanked us for “saving them from themselves” - our honest opinion seemingly saved them a rather large amount of money! Honesty is what we believe in - even when it may not work for your dream!!
Meanwhile this mid year market is nearly as busy as the post Covid period and there is residential activity a plenty and commercial stuff keeping us very busy. The team continue their merry travels and the dogs and animals continue to keep us intrigued and amused - birds of prey at Crook, sheep and cattle on the roads around Ambleside and a memorial painting of our late Daisy add to the pictorial side of this post.
Question - which Lakeland town began life as three hamlets named Birthwaite Applethwaite and Heathwaite ??
Anything we can do to help please give us a “comms”

Hey hey hey - Walt and Wilf are over the moon - the BP team are back to full strength…..
Meet Jilly - Tims new canine partner and confidant.
We’re all chuffed and none more so than her new Dad🤣
Jilly did her first days work on Tuesday with a day out up Ullswater way and we look forward to many more……
we’ll post more randomly in our usual manner no doubt soon.

So following on from our last sad post the New Year is well underway and our workload continues a pace. The Shooting Season is over and Walt and Wilf have a bit of spare time again on their hands on Saturdays. Burns night has also been celebrated again and our old Uncle Hamish sent us a pic of his Uncle Loch Fishing with his herd of pet Haggis.
On our travels recently we spotted a lovely moggy in its Dads Trady Van in Ambleside a few days ago before being closely watched by the local Heron in Grasmere.
On the canine front Tim has decided that another best pal is the way forwards so if anyone out there hears of any Bearded Collie pups coming available we would really appreciate a tip off…
…until the next post

In true BP posting fashion we continue to post when things “come along”. This post is one we really don’t want to make and we make it with heavy hearts. Yesterday Tim had to make the massive decision to say bye bye to his best pal Daisy and the rest of the team are today in a bit of a mess. Our only girl kept us all in check on our travels and thankfully it was only a few hours from wagging her tail to taking the journey to that doggie wonderland over the rainbow🌈. Daisy - Walt and Wilf will miss you but not as much as your Dad. Rest in Peace girl.

So the day before the Westmorland Show and the team need a bit of a catch up - it’s been an interesting last couple of weeks. One hell of a chimney in the Whicham Valley. Plenty of wildlife - aside the wasps that keep bugging the team - more amicable creatures have included a nosey fawn and a highly fuzzy young crow. Getting into chimney blocking habits from a very very early age!! And then the arty one for the set - a cracking crazed door in an old barn at the back of Akenthwaite.
So to tomorrow - we are proud members of the Kendal InGroup and are hosting at Stand B55 - we’ve a grand tent set up and perchance you are there and passing call in and say hello - Walt says if tha joins us Kev a’ll be advisin aboot sittin astride n’ t’ riggin…..
Maybe see you tomorrow a Thursday???

So just how many chimneys does a house need ? We had the pleasure of inspecting this monster a week or so ago. Earlier in the day a Kendal house was found to be mouse infested and in Ulverston we had double vision as there appeared two Hoads…….
The team continue in their intrepid travels and Walt took a bit of a tumble this week in the Langdales - indignantly he was heard to utter “ah cowped awer nashin doon yon fell cuz it’s gay brant”!!

Well it was an interesting week last week. More surveys and interesting events as the team worked it’s way around the Lakes. Mobbed by a scurry of squirrels in Underbarrow whilst investigating a septic tank and then Walter had a real battle with a baby Swallow hunting Hawk at a lovely old Farmhouse over Blawith way. Our man won out and the Hawk retired gracefully to high safety - you have to look closely to see it…..
Finally a lovely old street sign - to which Lakeland village does it form part??
