Why? Just Why?😡😡😡
We are a business, we make money, it’s a business!
😡What we don’t do is hide anything from clients, we would rather lose a job than lie or hide the facts from anyone!
👍We fit dropped Kerbs and driveways-
😡This week alone we have been to three jobs where clients have applied for permission to get a dropped kerb, had it fitted by other local companies and HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD that the council only grants permission for a dropped kerb IF a driveway is fitted too!!
You have one year from dropped kerb permission to fit a driveway with adequate drainage to be fitted-
YOU MUST NOT PARK ON THE DROPPED KERB UNTIL THE DRIVEWAY IS FITTED!!
😡😡Dropped kerb installers- be honest with people even if it means losing the business!!
🙏🙏BE AWARE- The total cost of a dropped kerb is not just the dropped kerb itself- here is what is required-
£225 council pre approval
£225 Final approval
The cost of a driveway if you do not have an existing one!
YOU MUST HAVE A SOLID BOUND SURFACE FITTED AS A DRIVEWAY (concrete , tarmac, block paving, Resin Bound are all acceptable- BUT Stones/gravel are NOT acceptable) - within a year or THE COUNCIL CAN MAKE YOU RETURN THR DROPPED KERB TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE OR PUT A CHARGE ON YOUR HOUSE!
👍If you already have a driveway, so long as it has the required material and drainage you are ok👍
😡😡This happens so often, as there is no legislation that says dropped kerb installers have to mention this to clients- it’s crazy!!
😡They all know the rules, but also know it can cost them work by telling people, as when you tell people that it is not just the cost of the dropped kerb, it means that the job is twice as expensive as they thought!
😡Leaving people with another financial outlay that they didn’t know about is wrong- just plain wrong- you know they will need it, just tell them- it’s just plain greed!! STOP DOING IT
😡I went to see a lady yesterday who quite literally cried as she had a gravel driveway already, and the dropped kerb company told her it would be ok as a driveway- then the council refused to sign it off as it’s not a solid bound surface- she should have been told by the dropped kerb installer at the quote stage!!
Rant over !!
