Jackson Civil Engineering A straight-talking, no nonsense Civil Engineering Contractor Doing a good job works for everyone. Pure and simple. It's what we call 'GoodWorks'.

Jackson is a straight-talking no nonsense Civil Engineering Contractor. We like to cut to the chase, and say it like it is, we're honest, and we play fair. We're privately owned which means we're free to make our own decisions - we're not controlled by a distant group of shareholders. We operate out of seven regional offices, which means our local knowledge in these areas is second to none, and it's great for our guys too because we make sure they get home every night.

Everyone at Jackson is encouraged to take a day off a year to for a good cause and in recent weeks our colleagues have used their 'Foundation Day' to help animals and .

They have supported workers at Suffolk Prickles Hedgehog Rescue Centre - a ‘hogspital’ which cares for more than 50 sick, injured, and orphaned animals.

Others used their days to help the folk at Banham Zoo in Norfolk. Their tasks included building fences, moving logs to create campfire areas and clearing an enclosure where trees and weeds had taken over. There was even time to enjoy lunch with the giraffes!

Our Communications Officer also hosted a tour of a country park to show landowners examples of how they can boost wildflower meadows, and manage woodland and grassland to attract reptiles, butterflies and migrant birds. A total of 16 people took part in the tour, organised in conjunction with Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

A big thank you to Robert Muldoon for taking part in Jackson's latest Time to Talk podcast on Imposter Syndrome to tie in with .

We have been producing these podcasts for the last four years - typically featuring interviews with employees - and this is the first time we have featured a guest from outside the business.

Rob is a bricklayer, construction project manager, and podcaster who had his own mental health challenges several years ago. Since then, he has been on a mission to help others across the industry to understand that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Rob recently delivered a presentation to the team working at Sizewell on recognising and tackling imposter syndrome.

💪A Jackson team has concluded works for the Towcester Relief Road on behalf of Persimmon Homes, a connection between the A5 to the A43 designed to divert traffic from the town centre.

A key focus during construction was to minimise disruption to those travelling to major racing events at the nearby Silverstone Circuit. This was achieved through ensuring the new road and roundabout were constructed in phases. The effective diversion of utility services and the recycling of materials from the previous road were another important successes.

An opening ceremony was held, bringing together representatives from Persimmon Homes, local councillors and Sarah Bool MP.

Six schemes in Jackson's Northern Region have been recognised at the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards 2026 event in Manchester, reinforcing the company’s ongoing commitment to raising standards across the construction industry.

The annual awards celebrate work sites that have made an outstanding contribution towards improving the image of the construction industry.

To achieve national recognition, projects must record consistently strong CCS monitoring scores of 'Excellent' or above, demonstrating best practice against the scheme’s core principles of Respect for the Community, Care for the Environment and Valuing the Workforce.

We pride ourselves on being a community-based company and fully appreciate that our efforts are recognised.

Jackson is delighted to have been shortlisted for the New Civil Engineer Bridge Awards in the Historic Bridges category for our work in refurbishing Hibaldstow Bridge in North Lincolnshire.

The stunning Grade II-Listed structure was built in 1889 and is now owned by the Environment Agency. Jackson was appointed to refurbish the bridge after it was badly damaged by fire.

Over 10,000 hours of skilled labour went into this fascinating restoration project, blending heritage techniques with modern engineering to ensure authenticity, sustainability and long-term durability. Fingers crossed for the awards ceremony in July!

Our Site Agent Brad Dovey and Senior General Foreman Dave Acton joined Jackson in the same week – and they recently celebrated 20 years working for the company in our Southern Region.

Over the years, Brad and Dave have worked together on many schemes, often in and around the Thames, and have only been separated on different jobs a handful of times.

Well done gents, for your dedication and commitment over two decades - through rain and shine - in blue and yellow.

Across our regions Jackson people are carrying out good works, supporting worthy causes in the communities where we are working.

In where Jackson is a delivering a town centre regeneration scheme, the team has donated two truckloads of topsoil to the Locavore Project, a not-for-profit local organisation who is building a community garden.

In the Eastern Region, director Nigel Aves recently donated three pre-loved laptops to an organisation called Cambridge Online, who recondition IT equipment and hand them out to people in need.

Up near Nottingham Jackson team members linked to refurbishment, held a Lego Hopper Racing session with the Bingham Orion Scouts troop, challenging the youngsters to build and programme robots before participating in a final race.

A Jackson team is carrying out urgent works to install temporary sea defences for a property on the Suffolk coast.

Approximately 250 rock bags are being placed along a 50-metre stretch of beach in Thorpeness near Sizewell, a village where a number of beachside properties are under threat due to coastal erosion.

A private homeowner appointed Jackson to oversee the works in front of his house. The scheme designers are Ramboll and the rock bags have been supplied by SPS from Great Yarmouth. The bags are transported by dumper from a compound to the work site where they are unloaded and placed.
