New garage door locking mechanism replaced recently for a customer in Smithton after all keys had been lost, leaving the door open and insecure.

Unfortunately, due to an ongoing medical issue, I've had to take the decision to close today (Tuesday).

Had planned to have the day off to attend personal appointments but a critical emergency at a local hotel put paid to that.

There had been a serious key breach with several rooms which needed resolved urgently. If not, it left the hotel unable to use or sell the rooms which would have been a nightmare as they are fully booked for the foreseeable future.

All affected rooms fitted with new lockable k**b sets and new keys supplied, much to the relief and delight of the General Manager who has offered a free hotel stay anytime I like, although when you're a full time single parent the offer is highly unlikely to be taken up 😔😄.

✅ Broken gearbox replaced in Culloden as the customer couldn't secure their front door.

✅ uPVC door realignment carried out in Dulnain Bridge.

✅ Two broken gearboxes replaced for repeat customers in the Kinmylies area of Inverness.

✅ Outdoor shed opened and new lock fitted at a property in the Lochardil area after keys were lost.

✅ Another uPVC door realignment in Inverness then, just as I was loading the tools into the van, a neighbour rushed over as they'd snapped their key in their patio door. Broken key extracted and the door can now be locked using the spare key.

Starting the week off strong.

Dual key euro cylinder swapped out for a thumbturn so that no key can be left on the inside to prevent access in an emergency. We also fitted a keysafe for carers to gain access.

Front and back door mortice locks changed at a property in Westhill. The old 3 lever locks were replaced with 5 lever locks for extra security.

Broken gearbox replaced after a customer phoned saying his door wouldn't lock. On site within 90 mins and new part fitted and door secure.

Keysafe decoded and opened for a customer in Fortrose.The previous owner had passed away so the code wasn't known. When ...

Keysafe decoded and opened for a customer in Fortrose.

The previous owner had passed away so the code wasn't known. When it was initially installed it was fitted recessed into the rendering of the house and the owner was worried that pulling it out might take some of the rendering with it.

Using non-destructive techniques, the keysafe was successfully decoded and opened and the customer was able to set a new code and bring it back into use.

Lots of miles covered today.

New uPVC door handles fitted for a customer near Cawdor.

Faulty euro cylinder and broken handle springs replaced at a property in Fortrose (with a lovely view over the Moray Firth).

Up to Ardindrean, on the side of Loch Broom, near Ullapool to open a uPVC door and replace the lock after all keys were lost.

Back to Inverness to open a failed uPVC mechanism and fit a new gearbox in Milton of Leys.

Then this evening, back out to Drummosie Hotel to let a guest into their room. While I was there I had to stop and admire the row of Porsche's lined up outside

Another full on day today.

Two mortice locks converted to keyless exit at a property in Errogie situated right beside Loch Mhòr. Euro sash locks fitted along with brass British Standard thumbturn cylinders and new, solid brass handles.

Broken gearbox replaced for a repeat customer in Lochardil.

We also replaced a broken window handle in Culloden.

The phone just won't stop ringing at the moment. Long may it continue 😄
