At RFP Tree and Landscape Services Ltd, we pride ourselves in being investors in people. Our clients are Estate owners, domestic home owners, Local Authority, Highways, Ecology contractors and Arboricultural surveyors. Our yard is based in Hornblotton and we cover work in and around the South West area.

We are looking for a full time experienced Team Leader to run one of our Domestic/Commercial Arboricultural teams. There is also an opportunity for an experienced Climber to join our busy hard working teams.

Job Specification:

Lead and manage a small team of tree surgeons on various Domestic and Commercial projects

Ensure that machinery and equipment is maintained to a high standard and that faults are recorded and reported

Communicate effectively with your manager to give them a daily progress report on each job

Work well with subcontractors and direct staff to deliver projects on time and to a high standard

Liaise with clients to ensure that their needs are being met

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies

Person Specification:

Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team

Experience in conducting site assessments and risk evaluations to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards

Communicate effectively with clients, providing professional advice and ensuring customer satisfaction

Good communication, positive attitude and good attention to detail

Highly motivated

Be able to work as part of a team to the highest standard

Excellent time management

Must be hard working, polite, reliable, presentable and organised

Be passionate about continual professional development and self motivation to expand their learning

Full UK driving license and preferably experience with towing

Preferred Skills

CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39, Emergency First Aid at Work, Woodchipper

Full UK driving license

Leadership skills

This week the team have been undertaking a some site clearance works for one of our commercial clients.

A massive thank you to Landpower Machinery for supplying us with this remote controlled ground flail for the day. It really made life easier for my team and saved several days work 🙌

It was affordable and made light work of woody vegetation and even small trees! 🌳

Some before and after pictures of a small project in the centre of Bristol of one of our commercial clients.

This beautiful old Mulberry is standing alone in the middle of an office complex and provides an important place of calm and shade which the residents regularly use to have their lunch and find some peace after a busy day.

As you can see the tree is heavily leaning and was being propped up with an old pallet that was straining under the weight.

We replaced the pallet with a sturdy Oak post and spread a woodchip mulch around the base to improve moisture retention and release nitrogen into the soil.

Hopefully this has also improved the amenity value of the area 🌳

The team at RFP undertook the removal of a large Horse Chestnut tree for a village hall this week. Extensive decay was detected at the base of the trunk using a sonic tomography scanning system. The decay was so prolific that the local authority gave their consent to remove this giant.

This was no easy task but our team carried out the work safely and efficiently as usual. Well done team! 🙏🙌
