Another lovely little decking project wrapped up today near Reigate.

Out with the old tired and rotten system, in with a new frame and deck. Clearance for drainage included, as well as creating a flush edge with the patio, black jack applied for protection to the subframe below, deck tape applied to protect the frame from above and a coating of oil to help the whole thing really last, as well as look great.

Sometimes mounting a gutter isn’t straightforward and you have to get creative! On the garden gym in Horsham we fabricated steel support brackets that are strong enough to hold up a snow filled gutter and account for the taper of the roof line.

My truck has been found! 💜

I just want to say a massive thank you to every single person who helped in any way. Whether you shared my post, kept an eye out, searched the surrounding areas, or simply wished me luck, I can’t thank you enough. The support I’ve received has been absolutely overwhelming.

A very special thank you goes to Steve at Horley Arch Garage for dropping everything to recover my truck. I genuinely can’t thank you enough.

Also thank you to the people that had to deal with stupid comments and fighting my corner.

With over 200 shares, the truck became far too hot to handle, and thanks to everyone’s efforts, it’s now back where it belongs.

This truck isn’t just a vehicle—it’s my livelihood. It’s how I provide for my family and my three young children. It’s also what allows me to proudly sponsor my son’s football team Horley Lions Youth FC! Having it back means more to me than I can put into words.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who stood by me over the last couple of days. Your kindness, support, and willingness to help have reminded me just how amazing this community is. I’ll never forget what you’ve all done for me and my family

A few little jobs in East Grinstead and Horsham today including fitting a chimney Cowl, a small roof clean with Biocide treatment as well as some facia and pipe work repairs.

A lovely little decking project in Smallfield we completed this week.

The previous top deck was rotten and unstable making it dangerous to walk on. Under that was an even more rotten deck! Thankfully there wasn’t a third below that one!

New frame installed to tie into the level of some existing decking that was in very good condition and being retained. Deck tape and bitumen paint for longevity and then decked with new composite planks and stainless steel hidden fixings to keep it rot and maintenance free for years to come.
