4th time back here in just over 2 years! We did the first part of the driveway, never thought we'd be back but they keep extending it. Must be doing something right.

Quick note:
if you're only using a wacker plate and skipping the roller for compaction, you're not doing it properly. You'll end up with sinking and movement further down the line 🫡

Well, we finally got there! Foul drainage diversion, underpinning, and cutting into a live sewer was a race against time - we had three occupied houses connected. What a challenge, but mission complete!

Was asked if we could fix a pipe for a pump station. The reason the pump station was installed was because there was no fall to the nearest manhole, so it has to pump it uphill to the nearest manhole that does have a fall. It uses a special pipe called MDPE - this is pressurised pipe, not like the normal standard 110mm OSMA pipe.

The problem we had to fix was that someone had not run the MDPE pipe the full length to the nearest manhole. Instead, they ran it 4 metres out then connected it to 110mm OSMA pipe for the next 27 metres, which actually had a backfall. This was never going to work - OSMA pipe isn't designed to hold high pressure; it's only for gravity flow.

So we disconnected the 4 metres of MDPE, dug a new trench, and ran the MDPE pipe straight into the nearest manhole which has a proper fall. It's crazy how people take on job when they clearly don't know what they're doing

We've been asked to relocate the manhole, as it will end up beneath the floor of the new extension. Anglian Water will not allow it to remain in that position, since it would make rodding and clearing any future blockages impossible.

We need to divert the pipework beneath the existing foundation - which it runs across the front of the extension, and finally route it down between the fence and the boundary wall. Because the pipe run is so close to the foundation, we also have to underpin the foundation. To make things more difficult, all work must be carried out by hand, as there is no access for a digger.

If you experience any issues with your drains, please do not hesitate to contact us. Whether the job is large or small, we have you covered.

This is going to be a challenging job. We've been asked to relocate the manhole, as it will end up beneath the floor of the new extension. Anglian Water will not allow it to remain in that position, since it would make rodding and clearing any future blockages impossible.

We need to divert the pipework beneath the existing foundation - which is 1 metre deep - then run it across the front of the extension, and finally route it down between the fence and the boundary wall. Because the pipe run is so close to the foundation, we also have to underpin the foundation To make things more difficult, all work must be carried out by hand & wheelbarrow, as there is no access for a digger & dumper.
