⚠️ Why Regular EICRs Are So Important ⚠️
I recently carried out an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) on a property that had not been inspected since it was originally installed over 50 years ago.
During the inspection, I discovered that the old plastic consumer unit had suffered years of heat build-up, causing the fuse carrier and surrounding parts of the consumer unit to melt and unable to remove the fuses from the consumer unit itself.This is the type of deterioration that often goes unnoticed until a fault occurs – and in some cases can lead to overheating, electrical fires, or loss of power.

An EICR is designed to identify issues like this before they become dangerous. Electrical installations naturally deteriorate with age, and many faults cannot be seen without a thorough inspection and testing process.
