A beautiful family room plus a home gym in one extension.
We extended this modern family home in the Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire to create a peaceful family room with a vaulted ceiling, plus a separate home gym for everyone to use. A hidden steel structure supports the vaulted ceiling, while decorative oak trusses and a cloaked oak A-frame bring warmth and traditional character.
A beautiful double-sided fireplace zones the open-plan space and gives it a cosy focal point, and we echoed the home’s existing timber panelling throughout to keep it feeling cohesive.

Sustainable SIPs New Build near Melton Mowbray
Solar panels, an air source heat pump plus a Clipsham stone and timber clad finish that belongs in the countryside.
This completed new build near Melton Mowbray, was designed by HSSP Architects and built using a SIP (Structurally Insulated Panel) system for high energy efficiency. Clipsham stone, timber cladding and render blend it straight into the rural setting.
Inside, a vaulted ceiling over the open-plan kitchen creates a stunning central space heated by an air source heat pump with mechanical ventilation heat recovery, and solar panels for lower running costs.
