Good afternoon everyone.
Hope you’re all well.

Just to let you all know, in case you haven’t seen my latest post, I have now ended all external painting until the Spring.

This is due to the obvious change in weather but also due to the time of year, meaning it’ll either be too wet or too cold for the paint/filler to dry properly.

I am however fitting in quotes for internal painting and decorating, especially before Christmas.

I’m also currently waiting for the start date on a large painting job for an entire cottage soon.

Well that was certainly a big project!
Thankfully I was fairly fortunate with the October weather (give or take a few days).

All woodwork was thoroughly keyed down using a few 80-grit sheets on a Makita orbital LXT battery-powered sander.

3 coats of Albany Masterdec ‘Barns Green’ were then applied everywhere else other than the front, which had 4 to fully cover any patchy areas.

The job was finished off with me putting up some guttering to the rear side of the workshop.

That was a fun morning strimming the meadow.

It only gets done twice a year so it was certainly long after 6 months or so !

I also managed to get some tidying up done by the bin area too.

Not a bad few hours today.

After several weeks (with time away due to other work) the entire re-pointing job on site is finally complete!

Couldn’t have had any better weather to get it all done, although it was incredibly hot!

Now it’s time to have a weekend break before I get back to my gardening and booking in all of my painting jobs before Christmas.

What a lovely way to try out part of the new range from Albany!

I had 6 internal doors and door frames as well as a handrail to paint for another regular client in Polegate.

After giving all the surfaces a slight sand with a 120-grit sandpaper to remove any shine from the old paint and any small imperfections, I used the previous version of Albany Super Primer-Undercoat - (2 coats were required on the handrail as it was natural wood previously and not white).

It was then all finished with the brand new Super Satin…

This was all applied with a small sash brush for the more intricate areas and a mini roller with 4” Hamilton short pile roller sleeves.

What do you guys think of the new Albany paint?
Would you use it, or anything else in their brand new range such as vinyl matt, scrubbable matt or even internal/external wood finishes?

Both ceilings were given 2 coats of white emulsion.

2 coats of ‘Ivory Lace’ were used on the kitchen walls.

2 coats of ‘Orchid White’ were used on the lounge walls.

Blinds put back up and everything put back as it was previously.

Thorough hoover throughout too, including above the kitchen units.

Finally looks like we’re gonna get some rain soon!

If the current forecast stays the same, I can get any interior painting and decorating/indoor work booked-in and completed.
