We are on-site today transforming internal walls using Universal OneCoat from British Gypsum / Saint-Gobain.

By pairing this versatile all-in-one plaster with the Predator Spray Machine, we are completely changing the speed and comfort of the job.

Work in progress by our guys today! 💪

Here’s a look at today's process:

First Spray Coat: Applied a heavy, even first coat of plaster using our airless sprayer.

Mesh Embedding: Imbedded a continuous layer of fibreglass mesh into the wet plaster. This reinforcement step is crucial for preventing future hairline cracks and adds a flexible layer to accommodate natural building movement.

Smoothing: Troweled the surface flat to ensure the mesh is completely encapsulated and the ceilings perfectly level.

What’s next?
We are letting this fully cure overnight. Tomorrow, we’ll do a light sand to knock back any imperfections before applying the final smoothing coat.

Restoring historic lath and plaster ceilings requires the right technique. Here is how we preserve them without destroying original features:

Stabilisation: Secured using the traditional screw and washer method.

Preparation: Applied scrim tape and bonding coat for a solid base.

Reinforcement: Sprayed two coats of plaster, embedding a fiberglass mesh for maximum strength.

Preservation: This process keeps the stunning original cornice completely intact, leaving it ready for detailed repairs at a later date.
