Did you hear me squeal? Not only has the orchid reappeared, we now have two! It’s a pyramidal orchid so nothing rare but still lovely to see and the result of leaving the grass under the old apple tree long for a few years. It will be cut back in the autumn ready for the spring bulbs to appear.

A great few days in Derbyshire with family arriving from Cotswolds, London, Liverpool and Perth. It’s getting harder to gather them all now lives are getting busier so meets like this are precious.

Ladywash Cottage proved the perfect central venue and the vet in the party loved the neighbouring sheep! Just wish we could have all stayed longer.
