First week of October has come and gone in a flash!! By far the busiest week we've had as a company since ESS (CE) Ltd was established back in 2020!
This week has been a 'sheet pile' type of week and we have all shapes and sizes - Octagons in Wallasey, U-shapes in Prestbury, Rectangles in Durham and an L-shaped retaining wall in Timberland. Add to that the installation of precast concrete panels on our recently completed king post wall in Bromborough, it's fair to say we've had plenty going on!
Five projects, five locations and a lot of moving parts to coordinate.
Fair play to the lads on site, our supply chain and the management team for pulling together and making it all happen. Everyone has played their part in delivering for our clients. We're still a relatively small business, but weeks like this show what can be achieved with the right people and a proper team effort.

As we head into the final quarter of the year, things are looking busy at ESS (CE) Ltd.
After what I’d describe as an indifferent third quarter over the summer, we now have an extremely busy period ahead, working with a mix of existing and new clients on schemes taking us all over the country. It’s good to see familiar clients coming back to us and new clients putting their trust in the team.
Keep an eye out — we could be working in your area. Current locations are Bromborough, Wallasey, Workington, Prestbury, Durham, Timberland and Billinghay and then even one on the doorstep at Lymm!!

As another league season comes to an end, it’s been a great experience being involved with Leigh Leopards and everything surrounding the club. There have been plenty of exciting moments and the usual ups and downs, but throughout the season it’s been brilliant to share the experience at the LSV (and even a couple of away days this season) with friends, family and clients, giving others a taste of the atmosphere and what the club is all about. The end-of-season presentation was another great occasion, with the players taking the time to mingle with supporters and sponsors. That level of engagement between the club, its players, fans and sponsors is a big part of what makes Leigh such a special club to be involved with. But it’s not over yet. One final push, starting with the eliminator and hopefully continuing into the semi-final and Grand Final. Could Leigh do it? We know one thing for certain—the players will give it everything they’ve got. Its safe to say the rugby will leave a void that wont be filled until next year!!!

Works are continuing on the Wirral, with the ESS (CE) Ltd lads installing a king post wall for a national housebuilder.

Site conditions have called for a slight change in methodology, but the lads have taken it in their stride, adapted the approach and kept the works moving forward. A bit of practical thinking, experience and a team determined to get the job done. Credit to everyone on site for getting stuck in and continuing to deliver.

No better way to start a new week, (especially when the first working day is Tuesday) than by starting a new project.
ESS (CE) Ltd are mobilising on the Wirral this week to undertake a full design, supply and installation of a King Post Wall.
The works will form an integral part of the proposed new cycle route to link a footbridge with a new residential development.
A great way to start the week and the new month.

The only thing better than completing your first project for a new client is being asked back to deliver the second. For us, that’s always one of the best measures of a successful first project — delivering what we said we would and earning the opportunity to work together again. Our second project for the client sees ESS (CE) Ltd providing contingency support should the need arise for the installation and extraction of temporary cofferdams across a United Utilities AMP8 project in the North West.

Over the last three weeks, the ESS (CE) Ltd team has successfully delivered two projects for a brand-new client in the North West, hopefully these have showcased our abilities as a business. First a king post wall and then second a sheet piled wall, demonstrating to our client the two core elements of our business and our specialist retaining wall capabilities.
A huge thank you to everyone involved from our dedicated supply chain, ESS staff and our client for entrusting the works to us. From planning and mobilisation through to ex*****on and completion, the team once again delivered to the high standards we pride ourselves on.
We're looking forward to building on this relationship and continuing to deliver practical, specialist solutions for our clients.

Mobilisation Monday! It’s been a while since we’ve said that! The team is mobilising this morning in Stockport for a new client, tackling a tricky and spatially challenging project. We’re installing a temporary king post retaining wall to facilitate the construction of an RC wall for a residential development. Looking forward to seeing the progress on this one!
