We’re delighted to share that Curtis Moore has once again been recognised as ‘Safe Contractor of the Month’ on the SRP Project at Sellafield.
Receiving this award for the second time is a fantastic achievement for our SRP team and one we’re incredibly proud of.
As roofing and cladding contractors working within a highly regulated nuclear environment, safety is at the heart of everything we do. This recognition reflects the team’s continued commitment to maintaining exceptional standards, positive safety behaviours and a professional approach in everything they do.
To be recognised for a second time is a real testament to the consistency, professionalism and positive safety culture demonstrated by our team every day.
A huge well done to everyone on the Curtis Moore SRP team for continuing to lead by example, and recognition also goes to our wider Sellafield Curtis Moore teams, who consistently uphold the high standards of safety, quality and professionalism expected across our nuclear projects.
Safety isn’t simply a requirement on our projects – it’s a responsibility shared by every member of the team.
Well done, everyone – another fantastic achievement! 👏

"Seeing the building in person gave me a much better understanding of the layout and how the different spaces relate to one another. It's much easier to visualise than looking at drawings alone." – Shona, Procurement Lead.

Recently, members of our Glasgow office visited the South Clyde Energy Centre project for a guided tour with our Site Manager, Chaz.

While our office teams support projects every day through procurement, accounts, finance and administration, there's nothing quite like seeing the work first-hand.

For most, it was their first opportunity to experience a live construction site, see the materials they help source and manage being installed, understand the construction process in more detail and meet many of the people they work with on a daily basis.

The visit also gave the team the opportunity to watch a seven-metre cladding panel being craned into position, see glazing and cladding installations progressing, and experience the impressive scale of one of the most significant building envelope projects in Scotland.

A huge thank you to Chaz for taking the time to show everyone around and explain the work taking place across the project.

With South Clyde located just five minutes from our Glasgow office, we're looking forward to welcoming more colleagues to site over the coming weeks. Visits like these help strengthen collaboration across the business, giving our teams a greater understanding of the projects we deliver, the people behind them, and the skill, planning and teamwork required to successfully bring complex schemes like South Clyde Energy Centre to life.

💜 Wear It Purple Week 2026 💜
On Friday, the Curtis Moore team came together to support the Lighthouse Charity as part of Wear It Purple Week.
From purple outfits and quizzes to raffles and our popular "Guess the Bear's Birthday" competition, the office got fully involved in raising funds for a cause that provides invaluable support to construction workers and their families.
We're delighted to share that our team raised £227, and Curtis Moore will be topping up the total to £500, which will be donated to the Lighthouse Charity.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated and helped make the day such a success. It's fantastic to see our team getting behind such an important cause and helping to raise awareness of wellbeing within the construction industry.
💜 Together, we're helping to make a difference.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week (11th–17th May) — an important reminder that mental health matters in every workplace, especially within construction.
As an industry, construction continues to face higher-than-average mental health challenges, but positive change is happening. At Curtis Moore, we recognise the importance of supporting our team both professionally and personally.
We have dedicated staff trained in Mental Health Awareness and are proud supporters of Lighthouse Charity, which provides vital emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families.
By encouraging open conversations and proactive support, we can all help break the stigma surrounding mental health in construction.

Some of the largest and most complex projects we work on are the ones we can't talk about.
Across the UK construction industry, Curtis Moore regularly delivers roofing, cladding and façade solutions on projects that operate within highly secure or sensitive environments.
These include sectors such as Nuclear, Defence, Energy and confidential commercial developments where strict security protocols understandably limit and often prohibit what can be shared publicly.
While we cannot showcase many of these projects in the same way as others, they represent a significant part of our work and demonstrate the trust placed in our team by clients and principal contractors.
Delivering projects in secure environments requires more than technical expertise. It demands robust information security, trusted personnel and strict compliance with site protocols. Our Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation, combined with dedicated internal processes for managing security clearances and sensitive project information, ensures we are well equipped to operate within these environments.
We have shared a short blog explaining how we support projects in secure sectors and why this capability is an important part of our service offering.

If you are currently working on a project within a secure or sensitive environment and require specialist roofing, cladding or façade expertise, our team would be pleased to discuss how we can support your project.

Women in Construction Week gives us the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contribution women make to our industry.
Construction remains a traditionally male-dominated sector. However, year after year, more women are choosing to build their careers in construction — pushing boundaries, challenging perceptions and making their mark across the profession.
At Curtis Moore, we are proud to have a wonderful team of women throughout the business, including representation in senior management and director-level roles. The women in our team contribute across all areas of the company, helping to drive our projects, support our clients and strengthen our overall performance.
Their expertise, professionalism and leadership are fundamental to the success of our business.
To mark the week, we’re highlighting a selection of the fantastic women who were in the office with us today. While not everyone is pictured, this represents the talented women across our organisation.
We value the contribution each of them makes and are proud of the strength, skill and dedication they bring to the team.

Last week we partnered with People's Safety to deliver a hands-on Net Rescue Workshop at our South Clyde project. The session featured a specialist presentation from Rob Harris of FASET, alongside a practical training workshop delivered by Craig and John from Peoples Safety.

The training was extremely well received by our site safety team, the project management site team and three newly appointed roofing gangs now working on the project

Ensuring our teams are fully prepared and confident in net rescue procedures is a critical part of our ongoing commitment to working safely at height. A big thank you to Jim, our project manager for arranging this and everyone involved in delivering and attending the session — collaboration like this keeps our standards high and our people safe.

It was great to recently capture aerial images showcasing the continued progress on site at the South Clyde Energy Centre (SCEC).
The project is now moving firmly into a more visible stage of construction, with several elements of the envelope progressing well. Installation of the U-channel glass has now commenced, while works to the internal firewalls and external cladding panels continue at pace.
We’re also pleased to see the Kalzip standing seam roof installation now underway, marking another key milestone in the programme and further transforming the external appearance of the building.
Curtis Moore is delivering the full building envelope package for this landmark scheme, including roofing, composite cladding, rainscreen systems, internal firewalls and louvres, while directly managing our specialist subcontractors for glazing, curtain walling, windows and external metal doors to ensure a fully coordinated and integrated solution.
Great progress from everyone involved — we look forward to sharing further updates as the project continues to take shape.

Over the Christmas period, we were proud to support causes that make a real difference locally.
We supported Sunshine Wishes Children’s Charity once again — donating laptops and monitors, contributing £500 to their Christmas Toy Appeal, and collecting food donations for their food bank locations.
Sunshine Wishes recently shared how, thanks to the kindness of many supporters, children and families felt a little more comfort, joy, and reassurance over the festive period. We’re grateful to have played a small part in that wider effort.
We also raised £250 on Christmas Jumper Day for the local Cat & Dog Home.
A huge thank you to Sunshine Wishes for the amazing work they do, and to our team for getting involved and giving so generously.
