Site Progress Update | Scotstoun Residential Extension
Good momentum this week on our Scotstoun project as we push toward full weathertightness and interior fit-out.
Key updates on this phase:
Building Envelope: Protect TF200 Thermo reflective breather membrane installed externally, paired with newly fitted sliding glazed units and window frames.
Thermal Performance: High-density insulation friction-fitted throughout the timber stud walls.
Internal Works: Subfloor treated timber battening installed ready for insulation and flooring, alongside ceiling first-fix wiring routes.
Roof Deck: Formed upstands and decking finalized in preparation for the single-ply membrane and flush rooflight installs.
High standards at the structural and insulation stages guarantee lasting thermal efficiency and comfort for the clients down the line.

Project Update: Scotstoun Extension
Substructure and decking complete for our ongoing residential extension project in Scotstoun.
Key milestones on this phase:
Substantial timber joist installation with dedicated framing for twin flush-fit rooflights.
Parapet and upstand construction built to exact fall requirements.
Clean ply/OSB deck laid and prepped, ready for the Sarnafil single-ply roofing membrane application.
Ensuring precision at the carpentry stage is essential for single-ply systems to perform at their best and guarantee long-term weatherproofing. Looking forward to seeing the roof sealed and the natural light flood the interior.

From a blank garden lawn to a finished structural slab — swipe to see the journey so far on our Scotstoun project. ➡️🏗️
Every strong build starts from the ground down, and doing it properly means taking care at every single stage:
Site Strip & Dig Out: Getting down to solid ground with the mini excavator and dumper, protecting the garden access as we go.
Strip Footings: Trench foundations dug out and poured solid.
Sub-Structure & Blind: Brick and blockwork built up to subfloor height, followed by a compacted sand blind.
DPM, Insulation & Rebar: Heavy-duty damp-proof membrane, IKO Enertherm rigid insulation, and steel reinforcement mesh laid and secured.
The Pour: Beatson’s volumetric mixer on site, barrow runs down the boards, and a clean, level pour to complete the slab.
The hard yards below ground are done, and the foundation is rock solid. Time to start building up! 🧱🔨

A few snapshots from the day in Scotstoun. 📸
Like any good musical, a solid concrete pour comes down to perfect timing and choreography — from the volumetric mixer feeding the barrows out front, to the barrow run straight through the garden, right down to the laser level and the final tamp.
Everyone played their part, and the slab is down clean and level.
Next act coming up soon! 🏗️🧱

It’s like a good musical — timing, rhythm, and everyone knowing their cues. 🎭
From the mixer running out front to the barrows shuttling down the boards and the final float over the surface, the team had this pour running like clockwork.
Another solid foundation down in Scotstoun, ready for the next stage. On to the build! 🧱🔨

Most people only notice the finished building, but the real magic happens right here before anything goes vertical. 🏗️

The underbuild and slab preparation are officially signed off at our Scotstoun project. Ground prepped, levels checked, reinforcement set—now it’s time for the concrete pour.

The foundation of quality starts from the ground down.
