Protecting a 15th-century stronghold requires far more than a standard installation. It needs non-invasive technology and specialist heritage expertise.
We were recently commissioned to expand fire detection coverage within The Keep at Drummond Castle, dating back to 1490.
Grade A listed conservation restrictions meant physical cabling, surface-mounted trunking, and invasive drilling through ancient stone walls were strictly out of the question.
Our team deployed an advanced EMS FireCell wireless fire alarm system. By removing the need for physical cabling, we achieved full coverage and robust signal integrity through heavy masonry, all with zero damage to the historic fabric.
Through careful planning and flexible technology, we safeguarded one of Scotland’s historic treasures while strictly preserving its original architectural integrity.
