Grassgo is hiring.
We’re looking for gardeners who take pride in their work, know their way around planting and hedging, and don’t mind the Scottish weather. In return: year-round work, a proper team, properly maintained kit, and fair pay.

A full garden reset, all in one day🌿This Eaglesham cottage garden had become heavily overgrown with weeds, including Himalayan balsam, so our gardeners spent the day giving it a complete tidy-up.

The beds were gutted, hand-weeded, cultivated and cleared of balsam before everything was blown clean.

We also made sure the balsam was handled carefully to avoid spreading seeds, flowering plants were bagged and taken away for proper disposal.

After recently helping to refresh Clydeview Park, it's fantastic to see local residents working together to support its future🌿If you are in the neighborhood, why not join the conversation?

Tomorrow is an important next step for Clydeview Park and Ferry Village.

Residents will meet to decide whether to formally establish the Clydeview Park Working Group and, if agreed, elect office bearers to help provide structure, clear communication and a strong community voice.

This is your opportunity to hear more, share your views and help shape what happens next.

📅 Tuesday 4 August 2026
🕠 17:30–18:30
📍 Renfrew Town Hall

Whether you are interested in joining the group, taking on an office-bearer role or simply being part of the conversation, we would be pleased to see you there.

If you cannot attend but would still like to share your views or express an interest, please email [email protected].

Please share this reminder or tag someone who may be interested.

Bringing community spaces back to life! Earlier this month, our gardeners took on a major tidy-up at Clydeview Park in Glasgow:

✂️ Grass cut throughout the park
🌳 Selected trees pruned to improve access and visibility
🌱 Green spaces refreshed and ready to be enjoyed

We’re proud to support the work of Friends of Clydeview Park, a group dedicated to improving, protecting and supporting this valuable community space for local residents and visitors.

A well-cared-for park makes a real difference to the people who use it every day💚Renfrew Development Trust

Looking for more privacy in your garden? Here are four hedging plants we often recommend for Scottish home gardens.

🔘Cherry Laurel – fast-growing, dense and excellent for screening.

🔘Photinia ‘Red Robin’ – evergreen structure with vibrant red new growth for added colour and interest.

🔘Yew – slower growing, but beautifully elegant and long-lasting.

🔘Portuguese Laurel – a refined alternative with smaller leaves and a more formal appearance.

The best hedge for your garden depends on the space available, the level of privacy you’re looking for, and how much maintenance you’d like to do.

Thinking about adding a hedge or replacing an existing one? We’d be happy to help.
