Igne was formed in 2023 by combining Allied Exploration & Geotechnics, DTS Raeburn, Raeburn Drilling and Geotechnical, Raeburn Drilling & Geotechnical Northern, SafeLane UK U

XO, Terra Tek, and WB&AD Morgan. By joining together as one team, united by a shared culture and standard of working, we offer strength in depth and breadth of services and capabilites. We offer stand-alone or fully integrated services and can support an entire project’s lifecycle. Igne’s team includes experienced engineers and skilled scientists who utilise specialist plant and equipment. Igne’s size and reach means we have the capacity to deliver solutions nationwide. We’ve all seen the headlines: more than half of England and Wales, and parts of Scotland are experiencing significant water scarcity.

The numbers are stark. According to Sky News:
➡️ National reservoir storage has dropped to 72% — around 10% below the long-term average for this time of year
➡️ Some southern reservoirs are approaching half capacity
➡️ Roughly 80% of England's rivers are below normal levels

And this isn't a one-off. The Environment Agency has recorded droughts in 2022, 2023, 2025 and now 2026. What used to happen once every 5–10 years is fast becoming the new normal — with a further drought considered highly possible in 2027.

Because we're coming off back-to-back droughts, the UK's water systems are starting from a deficit. Without an exceptionally wet autumn and winter to replenish aquifers and reservoirs, we could be right back here again.

Now is the time to think about your water security for next year and beyond.
