Igne was formed in 2023 by combining Allied Exploration & Geotechnics, DTS Raeburn, Raeburn Drilling and Geotechnical, Raeburn Drilling & Geotechnical Northern, SafeLane UK UXO, Terra Tek, and WB&AD Morgan. By joining together as one team, united by a shared culture and standard of working, we offer strength in depth and breadth of services and capabilites. We offer stand-alone or fully integrated services and can support an entire project’s lifecycle. Igne’s team includes experienced engineers and skilled scientists who utilise specialist plant and equipment. Igne’s size and reach means we have the capacity to deliver solutions nationwide. A fascinating article from The Guardian highlights the complexity of dealing with unexploded Second World War bombs, and the immense responsibility carried by EOD and UXO specialists when these devices are discovered during modern development projects.

While these finds often make headlines because of road closures, evacuations, and disruption, the article is a reminder that UXO risk management is fundamentally about public safety. A single item can have significant consequences if not properly identified, assessed, and managed.

Nearly 80 years after the end of WWII, UXO continues to influence construction, infrastructure and redevelopment projects across the UK.

🎉 Ten Years at Igne: Celebrating Alessandro Di Primio 🎉

September marked a special milestone — ten years since Alessandro joined the business as a site technician, working his way up to site engineer and now project engineer.

Alessandro moved from a small village called Belmonte del Sannio to Aberdeen after finishing his geology degree in Italy, looking for a fresh start and new opportunities. A tip-off from a friend led to his CV landing on the right desk — and a decade later, he's still here.

Ask him why, and it always comes back to the same thing: the people. The team, the support, the laughs along the way. That's what's kept him here through a business that's grown from Scotland-wide to covering the whole UK, and through ten years of change on-site and off.

He still prefers the field to the office — the variety, the different projects, being outdoors.

To mark the occasion, the team surprised Alessandro with a hamper — a small thank you for a decade of big contributions.

Here's to Alessandro, and to ten fantastic years. 👏
