Working progress on this Mahogany Victorian gate leg table

I was asked by my client if I could give their solid oak dining table and sideboard a new lease of life.

Over time, the oak had taken on a very warm, orange colour, which no longer worked with their new flooring. They wanted to bring the furniture back to a lighter, more natural-looking oak tone so it complemented the new floor beautifully.

After carefully preparing the existing finish, I worked on both pieces to remove the unwanted orange tones and achieve the lighter, more natural finish the client was looking for.

The result is a much fresher, more contemporary look while still retaining the beautiful character and grain of the original solid oak.

It’s amazing what a change of colour can do — rather than replacing good-quality furniture, sometimes it just needs a little transformation!

Another happy customer and another piece of furniture given a new lease of life.

If you have a piece of furniture that you’d like transformed, get in touch to discuss what’s possible.

Asked to replace broken pane of glass in front door of a grade II listed building in Oundle, using glass from the same period and to trim the bottom off the doors so they open easily and not catch on the door mat.

A sign refresh for reopening of the Oundle bookshop. Brought back the lovely golden colour in the oak, refreshed the lettering with 24c gold leaf. And inserted the new logo plaque.
