I am now OFTEC registared for the Competant Person Scheme to install and registar unvented Hot water Cylinders. If you have a traditional hot water cylinder, the unvented will give you mains pressure hot water with exceptional flow rates. This one delivers 3 bar hot water at 14 litres per min, which is alot! If you have poor hot water pressure, the unvented cylinder can be a good choice. Unlike a combi boiler, you still have a store of hot water and an imersion ro give you hot water if your boiler fails

Never good when you lose hot water but especially this time of year, diagnosed faulty Y plan 3 port valve on a customers central heating. System drained down, valve replace system re-filled (with inhibitor), valve functioned and assessed servicable. Wiring is always interesting! I am Gas Safe registared, get in touch if you need help.

Forcast is cold tonight, below freezing, this can cause problems if you condensate pipe from your boiler is not correctly lagged. If the water in the pipe freezes, then it can cause the boiler to shut down. If you have problems then it can be thawed out by pouring hot (not boiling) water over the pipe, then, resetting the boiler. Also make sure your water pressue at the boiler is between 1 and 1.5 bar.
