Progress in action at PD Ports 👷
The final phase of works is progressing on site at Teesport, with the Hall Construction team continuing to deliver the replacement of over 65,000 square meters of port pavement within the live container terminal.
From breakout and initial ground preparation works through to placement of reinforcement and concrete pouring of the 405mm slabs, each stage requires careful planning, coordination and attention to detail to ensure the works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
The fresh port pavement is built to Eurocode BSEN1992-1-1 specification for use by rubber tyred gantry cranes and reach stackers, to move containers around the busy terminal. Additional reinforcement and increased slab thickness recommendations in conjunction with Haskoning have allowed us to offer a design life of 50 years, by limiting surface cracking to no more than 0.3mm.
Projects of this scale are a real team effort, bringing together experienced people, specialist plant and technical expertise to keep operations moving and deliver high-quality results on site.
It’s great to see the continued progress being made and another example of Hall Construction’s capabilities across complex civil engineering, groundworks and infrastructure projects throughout the region.
