Got a roof leak and wondering if buildings insurance will cover it? In the UK, gradual wear and tear usually isn't an insurance claim - you still need the leak fixed properly.

A traditional slate look, designed for roofs where a much lower pitch is needed. 🏠

This recent project is being completed using Britmet lightweight slates, a modern roofing system that combines the appearance of traditional slate with some major practical advantages.

One of the biggest benefits of Britmet slates is that they can be installed on roof pitches as low as 12 degrees, making them a brilliant option for lower-pitched roofs where many traditional roofing materials may not be suitable.

They’re also considerably lighter than traditional tiles, helping to reduce the load on the roof structure, while offering excellent durability, low maintenance and a smart slate-style finish. ⚒️

These photos show the before and installation stages and after of the project.

A recent EPDM flat roof project completed in Ely 🏠

For this property, we installed a new EPDM rubber flat roof system - a modern, durable solution that works particularly well for extensions, garages, balconies, verandas and other flat roof areas.

EPDM is made from a synthetic rubber designed to be lightweight, flexible and highly resistant to UV exposure and harsh weather. It’s also made to accommodate a degree of building movement without cracking, tearing or shrinking.

Another big benefit is the low maintenance. EPDM is designed to help resist the build-up of moss, algae and fungi, making it a practical long-term option for flat roofing.

Swipe to see the process and progress ➡️

Our EPDM flat roofs come with a 20-year guarantee and have a life expectancy of 40+ years, making them a strong option if an older felt or flat roof is starting to fail.

If your flat roof is leaking, ageing or in need of replacement, get in touch and we can take a look.

Off to South Wootton, near King’s Lynn, today 👋

Today’s job is a smaller roofing visit - replacing a few damaged roof tiles, giving the roof a clean and providing a quote for a new skylight.

Not every roofing problem means you need a full roof replacement.

If you’ve noticed a minor leak, slipped or broken tiles, moss build-up or a small area of your roof that needs attention, it’s worth getting it looked at before a small problem turns into a much bigger one.

We’re happy to help with everything from minor roof repairs and maintenance through to larger roofing projects.

If your roof is causing you a bit of trouble but you don’t need a full renovation, get in touch and we can take a look.

When Slate is beyond patching, sometimes the right solution is a complete strip-back and replacement rather than another short-term repair.

Swipe to see the process ➡️

For this roof, we stripped everything back to the trusses before rebuilding it properly with:

• New breathable roofing membrane
• New treated battens
• New Slate Tiles
• A clean, long-lasting finish

If your roof is showing signs of repeated leaks, slipped slates or ongoing deterioration, Ely Roofing Company can assess whether repair or replacement is the better option.
