🏗️ Building New Homes in Lerwick | Staneyhill Terrace Phase 1

It’s fantastic to see progress at Staneyhill Terrace Phase 1 in Lerwick, where Hardies Chartered Surveyors are proud to be providing Quantity Surveying Services for Hjaltland Housing Association.

The development will deliver 32 new one-bedroom homes across three blocks, helping to provide much-needed new housing for the local community.

With construction underway, our Quantity Surveying team is working alongside a fantastic project team to support the successful delivery of the development:

🎓 Inspiring Future Careers

Colleagues from Hardies Chartered Surveyors and Shepherd Chartered Surveyors recently attended the Beath High School Careers Fair, meeting pupils and sharing an insight into the wide variety of careers available within surveying and the wider property profession.

With a diverse range of roles, specialisms and routes into the profession, there are many ways to build a rewarding career, with opportunities to learn, develop and progress along the way.

It was great to meet so many pupils, answer their questions and highlight some of the different career paths available across Hardies Chartered Surveyors and Shepherd Chartered Surveyors.

Thank you to Beath High School for welcoming us. We are looking forward to attending more careers fairs over the coming weeks and continuing to showcase the exciting opportunities our profession has to offer!

🏗️ Joe Brown Represents Hardies Chartered Surveyors at RICS HQ

Joe Brown, Apprentice Quantity Surveyor at Hardies Chartered Surveyors, recently represented Hardies at RICS HQ in London, taking part in the Engagement with the Next Generation of Surveyors panel discussion at the iBEE Accredited Providers Conference.

Joe has already recognised the importance of working towards becoming Chartered as quickly as possible, while building the strong technical foundations needed for a successful career in Quantity Surveying.

From preparing Bills of Quantities to developing his technical knowledge alongside experienced colleagues, Joe is embracing every opportunity to learn his craft. His genuine enjoyment of the profession and hunger to learn and progress really shine through.

At RICS HQ, Joe shared his experience of the apprenticeship route and the support available across Hardies Chartered Surveyors and Shepherd Chartered Surveyors as he combines his studies with practical experience and works towards his APC.

We are incredibly proud to see Joe representing Hardies in London and demonstrating the ambition and enthusiasm we value in the next generation of surveyors👏

🚴🏃‍♂️Team Blue Triangle Takes on Buccleuch Property Challenge!

Nine colleagues. Three teams. Six hours of teamwork, determination and plenty of endurance💪

Teams from Shepherd Chartered Surveyors and Hardies Chartered Surveyors recently took on the Buccleuch Property Challenge at Drumlanrig Castle – tackling around 50km of mountain biking, running, orienteering and surprise challenges along the way.

With teamwork at the heart of the event, it was a brilliant opportunity for our colleagues to work together, play to each other’s strengths and take on a challenge well outside the usual working day!

Even better, their efforts helped support Venture Scotland, the event’s 2026 charity partner, which works with young people facing complex challenges, using outdoor-based personal development programmes to support mental health, wellbeing and confidence.

A fantastic achievement from all nine of our colleagues and a great display of Team Blue Triangle spirit👏

Well done to everyone who took part – a challenging day, a brilliant cause and a real team effort!

✨ Celebrating an Incredible Evening for Capability Scotland 💙

What a fantastic achievement at this year’s Capability Scotland Gala Evening, with an amazing £45,000 raised to support disabled children, adults and families across Scotland.

Hardies Chartered Surveyors and Shepherd Chartered Surveyors were proud to return as Headline Sponsors for the second consecutive year, continuing our valued relationship with Capability Scotland and supporting the vital work they deliver across the country.

It was a truly inspiring evening, with the wonderful Jollity Express Makaton Choir providing a particularly memorable highlight.

Congratulations to the entire Capability Scotland team on another hugely successful event, and thank you to everyone who attended, donated and helped raise such a fantastic amount.

A Fantastic Day on the Fairways at Fairmont St Andrews ⛳️

48 golfers joined us at The Kittocks Course, Fairmont St Andrews for what has become a real highlight in the Hardies Chartered Surveyors calendar.

It was fantastic to see the day so well supported, bringing together longstanding clients, colleagues and industry contacts alongside many newer connections. The strength of those relationships, built and developed over the years, is something we’re extremely proud of and remains a hugely important part of Hardies.

Even a touch of famous St Andrews haar rolling across the fairways couldn’t dampen the atmosphere, with some great golf, plenty of friendly competition and an excellent opportunity to catch up away from the office.

As Hardies continues to move forward, occasions like this are a great opportunity to bring together the people and businesses we work alongside and celebrate the relationships that have played such an important part in our journey.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day such a success, and to the team at Fairmont St Andrews for the first-class hospitality throughout.

📢 Hardies Chartered Surveyors welcomes Storrier & Donaldson to our business

We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Storrier & Donaldson, the long‑established Glasgow Quantity Surveying practice founded more than 50 years ago.

Owner Robert Currie joins Hardies as Consultant Partner, with his team relocating to our Glasgow city centre offices shared with Hardies Chartered Surveyors and Shepherd Chartered Surveyors.

Douglas Smith, Managing Partner at Hardies Chartered Surveyors, said: “This acquisition represents another important milestone in our growth strategy, bringing together two businesses with shared values, complementary expertise and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. 🎪 Supporting a Summer Celebration at The Yard 💙

Some of our Hardies Chartered Surveyors team recently had the pleasure of volunteering at The Yard’s circus-themed Summer Party, helping out with what was a fantastic day for children, young people and their families.

As a valued client of Hardies, we’ve been proud to support The Yard through our professional services, so it was particularly rewarding to step away from our usual role and get involved first-hand in the wonderful work they do.

The Yard provides a vital lifeline for disabled children and young people and their families across Scotland, helping children thrive through inclusive play while delivering high-quality wraparound support for parents and carers.

It was a pleasure for our team to play a small part in such a special day and to see the welcoming, inclusive environment The Yard creates.
