Established in 1980 our Edinburgh business has an inspirational showroom demonstrating timeless hand built kitchens and a complete interiors collection. Showcasing beautiful British fabrics, dynamic lighting and inviting soft furnishings.

✨ Every kitchen starts with a conversation, whether that’s in our showroom, over the phone or at your home. Then comes a detailed CAD design, so you can see the room before a single piece is made.

From there, it goes to our workshop in Kelso. Our own joiners craft every cabinet by hand, with 30mm solid wood doors and frames and drawer boxes joined with traditional dovetails. Every piece is primed in-house before it leaves us, and you’re welcome to visit and see your kitchen being built.

Once fitted, it’s hand-painted on site for a flawless finish. Our project management team oversees the installation, with our designers on hand throughout to talk through every step.

A bin drawer that disappears into the cabinetry, with a hidden drawer inside to keep the bin bags close at hand. Pantries built around the way you cook, from bespoke larder cupboards to full walk-in spaces. A utility room with a traditional pulley airer overhead, so the laundry dries out of sight and out of the way.

Every detail is designed around real life, then handcrafted in our Scottish Borders workshop.

For this Edinburgh Georgian home, we set the island apart in Hardwick White and kept the surrounding cabinetry in a softer Shadow White, so the light could move freely through the room.

We finished it with antique brass handles and Bianco Toscana quartz, then brought in an electric Aga and a Quooker tap to make everyday cooking effortless.

Walk into this gorgeous kitchen and, in a fraction of a second, the hustle and bustle of the city falls away.

Our customer wanted to bring a little of the countryside into her Victorian Edinburgh home. Taking cues from the original kitchen, we paired our bespoke oak finish, earthy terracotta tiles and Setting Plaster No.231 by with clean lines and quiet luxury, creating a space that feels welcoming the moment you arrive.

Every great kitchen has a heart, and in this one it’s the island.

Set at the centre of a spacious room and surrounded on three sides by full-height cabinetry in Farrow & Ball Treron, it’s where the cooking happens, where guests gather with a glass of w**e, and where the family comes together at the end of the day. Stained in our bespoke Windsor finish, it brings warmth to the heart of the room.

We carried the countryside style through to the utility room of this Georgian renovation, just off the kitchen. Finished in Farrow & Ball Dead Salmon, it has a run of three sinks, two washing machines and dryers, and a boot room area for muddy boots, coats and everything that comes in from outdoors.

The beauty of bespoke design is that we can shape every room around the way you live, and carry the countryside style throughout your home.

✨ Colour is the first thing that greets you when you step into the room, and in a fraction of a second, it tells you you’re home.

In a north-facing room, warmer tones keep their glow where cooler shades can look flat. In open-plan spaces, colours that sit close together on the colour wheel keep everything connected.

For a bit of energy, pairing opposite tones in the cabinetry and worktop brings vibrancy and balance. For a pop of colour without the commitment, go deep neutral on the main run and let the island carry the bold shade.

Thoughtful and practical design is at the core of Countryside Kitchens. ✨

One of our favourite features is an integrated bin drawer. It makes meal prep effortless, everything goes straight in without disrupting your workflow.

We’ve found clients love having their chopping board space right next to it, keeping all the prep work in one zone.

Above the chopping boards, we added little shelves for recipe books, which not only keeps everything accessible but creates a nice visual balance in the kitchen.

✨ When we think of warm and cosy, we think of this kitchen we recently completed in a Victorian refurbishment in Edinburgh.

On the walls, Setting Plaster No.231 by Farrow & Ball pairs with our bespoke oak finish, traditional joinery techniques, and a terracota tile creating that homely yet modern feel.

The narrow galley meant keeping an open feel, a Bosch Home UK induction hob with integrated ventilation system sits seamlessly in the counter instead of overhead.

Every appliance is fully integrated: hidden bin drawer, concealed fridge, pantry tucked away. A matching shelf above the chopping boards holds recipe books, keeping the design elegant and clutter-free.

✨ This Victorian Edinburgh kitchen was designed around one idea, complete functionality, without a trace of mess on show…

Let’s start with the island- an integrated oven, warming drawer, and Bora induction hob with a built-in extractor, all sitting within the cabinetry, sightlines completely clear overhead. The kitchen’s main wall anchors the space featuring a Belfast sink and a boiling water Quooker tap.

Then to the unit with the integrated fridge freezer and, behind the pocket door, a fully fitted coffee bar, invisible until you need it. And beyond that, a utility room for the laundry and everything else, continuing the same feel throughout.

Every kitchen we make is handcrafted in our own Edinburgh workshop. Come and see us at our Morningside showroom.

The island in reclaimed oak, that haberdashery inspired piece, is the first thing you see stepping in.

From there the kitchen opens up around it, bold 2AM Dark Royal Blue by COAT throughout. A new wall, added during the refurbishment, sections off the utility into its own quiet space, kept separate to keep the kitchen clutter free.

The same theme carries through into the dining room, where a fridge and pantry sit tucked into a bespoke unit.

All designed and made bespoke in house at Countryside Kitchens.
