Have you seen our website www.merryoakscommunityhall.com recently? It was looking quite tired but one of our lovely volunteers has been working very hard to update it and have details of many of the classes and events held at the Hall. It’s not finished yet but already has so much information.

One that is on there is for the next Community Bookclub. The next meeting will be on Monday 2nd November at 6pm. The book under discussion will be The Rose and the Yew Tree by Agatha Christie writing as Mary Westmacott.

If you want to see books we have looked at in the past, please go to our website! And we look forward to seeing you on 2nd November.

This Saturday October 17th, is International Repair Day and we are having a special PATmen session at Merryoaks Community Hall from 9 am to 12 noon.

As well as checking your small electrical items for safety, they will do minor repairs if possible. Repairing all sorts of items if preferable to discarding and buying new. Wherever possible we should repair and re-use to minimise waste and conserve the planet’s resources.

Where repair isn’t possible, and it might not be, we should all make sure that items are recycled in the appropriate way so that any useful materials can be extracted and put back into manufacturing.

Come along and see us at Merryoaks Community Hall Saturday 17th October 9am to 12 noon.
