🐝 ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL HONEYBEE CUT-OUT COMPLETED BY HIVEGUARD

This removal turned into one of the most challenging jobs I’ve tackled so far. What initially appeared to be a straightforward colony quickly became a complex structural removal, with the bees occupying multiple hidden voids beneath both the clay and adjoining slate roofs, as well as extending into the studio ceiling.

As the colony continued to grow over time, honey had begun seeping down through the wall inside the property, making it clear that a full cut-out was the only long-term solution to remove the colony and prevent further damage.

Sections of both roofs had to be carefully removed to gain safe access to the colony. Once the bees and comb had been successfully removed, all roofing was professionally reinstated back to its original condition, ensuring the property was left secure and weatherproof.

Every section of comb was removed, the cavity was thoroughly cleaned, and the colony was safely relocated rather than destroyed. After an extensive search, the queen was successfully located and recovered, allowing the colony to be reunited and giving them the best possible chance of establishing themselves in their new home.

This job was a great reminder that no two honeybee removals are ever the same. Sometimes a colony is exactly where you expect it to be, and other times it leads you through multiple hidden cavities before you finally reach every last section.

🐝 HIDDEN HONEYBEE COLONY SAFELY REMOVED & RELOCATED 🐝

A well-established colony had built its home deep beneath the roof, every section had to be carefully exposed and removed by hand to give the bees the best possible chance of survival.

Rather than destroying the colony, we carried out a live cut-out, carefully collecting the bees and salvaging as much brood as possible before relocating them into a hive where they can continue to thrive.

Simply blocking an entrance or leaving comb behind often leads to bigger problems later, including returning swarms, melting honey, pests and unwanted odours. A proper cut-out removes the source of the problem while protecting these incredibly important pollinators.
