We closely manage each project from the design stage to the finishing touches in order to give the best finish achievable. We at Mollison HPR design a whole range of different heating systems. Systems designed range from simple Combi boiler and radiator systems to Multi fuel systems having different style heat emitters such as radiators and underfloor heating. “Heat pumps are expensive to run.”
- This is the biggest myth we hear on jobs.

Here’s the surprising bit:

A heat pump doesn’t make heat like a boiler.
It moves heat that already exists in the air into your home.
That’s why the numbers look unbelievable:
• 1 kW of electricity in
• 3 to 4 kW of heat out
• That’s 300–400% efficiency in the real world.

For comparison:

• Gas boiler: 92% efficient
• Electric heater: 100% efficient
• Heat pump: up to 400% efficient

So, you’re using far less energy to heat the same house.
Even when it’s 0°C outside, a modern heat pump is still running at around 300% efficiency.
And here’s what most people don’t realise…
A boiler will never get more efficient than it is today.
A heat pump automatically gets cheaper and greener to run every year as electricity comes from more renewables.
Same house. Same system. Improving over time.
We’re not replacing boilers because it’s trendy.
We’re replacing them because, from an engineering point of view, moving heat is far smarter than making it.

That’s why heat pumps are so cheap to run…
