I ALWAYS get asked “what products do you use on the woodwork?”

The answer is always the same. Johnstones Aqua Guard.

Now when hiring a decorator it’s not just about achieving a good finish but also a DURABLE finish.

These products are all water based, so they have low VOC’s and don’t stink out your home. 😅

The yellowing from oil based finishes are a chemical reaction that will happen almost all the time you don’t get that with the water based products.

They come colour matched to pretty much anything you’d like. After sanding, you can clean off and prime, do any filling / caulking you need to and apply two top coats and you will be left with a brilliant white scratch resistant finish that will last a lifetime!

MOST RECENT TURNAROUND COMPLETED YESTERDAY 🙌🏻

A TONNE of prep went into this one. As you can see this living room hadn’t been decorated for around 10+ years.

A returning customer had asked me to re decorate their entire living room.

As always, fully insured, professional service was provided using good quality products. Customer was over the moon and has already re-booked for the next instalment of the property to be done in February.

As we approach the Christmas 🎄 period now is the perfect time to get booked in with Brush Up before the space is gone!

Taking bookings now! 👌🏻

Just another small example of what us decorators do. Hours of prep and surprises that all tie into that “massive figure” we ask for.

I do not and never will operate on a day rate basis. I price per job what I think is fair and that price is a guaranteed promise you will never pay anymore.

Can’t wait to upload the before’s and after of this one!

⚡️ Recently completed ceiling for returning customers. ⚡️

Sometimes the smaller jobs go a long way! Client had some large holes after having some work done and lighting replaced.

After trying to repair themselves they decided to ask Brush Up for the work to be completed.

Lovely people, lovely finish! 👍🏻

I realise the lighting is a bit sketchy on this one 😅 and unfortunately there wasn’t time for the paint to properly dry before taking photos.

⚡️ Stairs & Landing Completed ⚡️

When I price sometimes it may come across as expensive and the old “if you can p**s you can paint” factor lingers.

It’s much more than that as you can see. I spend a lot of time prepping and getting eveything ready for top coats before any paint even comes out the tin.

Absolutely over the moon with this one as are my new clients and have already re-booked me for bedrooms in December!

Woodwork finished in Johnstones Aqua Guard Matt and the walls were freshened up in Nutmeg White.

I see this debate a lot. Do you use floor protection or dust sheets?

Personally I use both.

I like my customers to have 100% faith I respect their homes and everything will be protected.

Yes it takes time but it’s no excuse for laziness, you can come to the job early to get everything protected.

Also makes moving around the job easier and it’s an easy process to remove at the end.

That’s part of the guarantee from Brush Up Decorating. As well as no hidden costs!

This week was spent working for a lovely new client in this guest bedroom.

As the photos show it had quite a few issues, blown plaster on the reveals and some damp in the corner once paper had been removed.

Took a good couple of days prepping this one but it’s come out lovely and everyone’s happy! 😊

Unfortunately didn’t have the time to let the paint properly dry before taking photos.

Will be returning in the near future to repair their lounge ceiling! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
