Did you know wood is hygroscopic? That means it absorbs and releases moisture depending on its surroundings. 🌦️ So, what does that mean for your kindling?

When kindling is stored in a humid environment, it can absorb moisture from the air, which makes it harder to light and creates more smoke. 🔥 To keep your fires burning bright, store your Kinder Kindling in a dry, airy space. Our hand-chopped kindling is naturally dried and stored in reusable mushroom crates to help air circulate and maintain its low moisture content. 🌱

Exciting news! Kinder Kindling is now available at The Gardens Group, offering our sustainable, eco-friendly Dorset kindling for your fires.

As part of our continued commitment to responsible sourcing and minimising our impact on the environment, we are now selling eco-friendly and sustainable kindling, produced by Kinder Kindling.

While we all need to be thinking about our impact on the environment, we still want to enjoy a fire during the colder months and BBQs in the summer, so it is great to know that there is a greener, cleaner solution.

The bundles of Ready-to-Burn certified kindling are made from waste pallets that local businesses no longer require and would otherwise end up on landfill. Once chopped, the wood is dried in the sun or wind and then stored and sold in mushroom crates to keep the air circulating. This helps maintain dry kindling, which results in a much less smoky fire and a cleaner chimney, while the crates can be returned or reused, further minimising waste.

This is just the sort of initiative that we like to get behind. Not only is Neil, the founder solving a problem faced by many businesses of how they are going to dispose of pallets, but he has also created a really useful eco-friendly product.
