✅ Felt Roof Restoration Completed Today

Today we wrapped up a felt roof restoration that needed just a bit of attention to prevent bigger issues down the line.

🧰 While there were a few minor faults, the roof was far from needing a full replacement. Instead of pushing for a costly re-felt, we recommended a high-quality felt roof sealant — a smart solution that will extend the roof’s lifespan by up to 10 years.

🛠️ Start of a Concrete Outhouse Roof Restoration Project

A customer had been struggling with persistent damp issues in their living room and couldn’t identify the source. That’s when Modive Construction was called in to investigate.

🔍 After a thorough inspection, we traced the problem back to a poorly installed concrete outhouse roof—a job previously done by another contractor.

Here’s what we found:
• A 2-inch thick bed of cement laid directly over a badly cracked concrete roof
• Just one layer of mineral felt applied with no upstands to the property or roof edges 😫

Thankfully, the customer called in an experienced and trusted roofer to make things right.

✅ Progress so far:
• Old felt stripped
• Thick cement layer removed
• Roof surface dried thoroughly
• First coat of white waterproof sealant applied to treat cracks and seal the base

🔜 Next steps:
• Second coat of black sealant
• New felt underlay
• Green mineral top layer
• Proper upstands and edge sealing

✅ Project Completion Update

We’ve just completed a high-quality installation of 45mm 600x600 concrete buff paving (layout: 6x9) with a buff colour brush-in grout finish. The full job included:

• Excavation to 150mm depth
• Installation of a porous membrane
• 50mm of 20mm limestone, mechanically compacted
• 60mm full bed of 4:1 sharp sand and cement mix

⏱️ Completed in just 2 days, keeping everything on schedule for the client’s new greenhouse installation.

🌿 The customer is very happy with the results, and we’ll be returning to carry out more work once the greenhouse is in place.
