Can you believe this annexe was built in 2014?! Still looks utterly amazing 🤩

This two-bedroom annexe in Kent was built for the lovely Margaret - and over a decade on, it hasn't aged a day.

Dark grey cladding and anthracite windows and doors give the annexe a sleek, modern look, while the striking over-sail canopy across the front and side - lit beautifully with LED downlights - adds real character and a warm welcome home.

It's a brilliant reminder that a well-built annexe isn't just a short-term solution. Design it right, and it stays looking (and feeling) like home for years to come 🧡

Today we had the pleasure of visiting David and Jan at their stunning two-bedroom annexe, proudly sitting on the grounds of Chetham Farm Retreat The Calm Mind Consultancy. - owned by their daughter Mandy and son-in-law Stephen 🏡

It really is the best of both worlds… a beautiful space for David and Jan to call their own, with the reassurance of having Mandy and Stephen just moments away 🥹

From the natural surroundings to the modern design, it’s clear that this is so much more than an annexe. It’s a home, a place to enjoy independence, and a way for family to stay close 🧡

It was so lovely to see just how happy David and Jan are in their new home. Because sometimes, being close to the people you love is what makes a house truly feel like home 🫶

With autism, independence isn't a given. This annexe makes it possible 🥹

For as long as he can remember, Stephen has wanted the same things many of us do: a space of his own, the freedom to make his own choices, and a place where he feels comfortable and secure.

Living with autism can bring challenges that make independent living more difficult, but this annexe has given Stephen the opportunity to build a life that works for him.

It's his own space, his own routine, and a growing sense of independence that might not otherwise have been possible 🧡

"This annexe is my home. I really looked forward to moving closer to my family and seeing them more."

Some homes carry a story before they're even built, and Lynn's is one we'll always remember.

For years, this was Charlie and Lynn's family home, filled with memories they built together. When Charlie passed, Lynn made the decision to downsize into the garden he loved, so their daughter's family could take on the house, and the garden could stay exactly where it belonged: at the heart of it all 🥹

Named "Charlie's View" in his memory, Lynn's annexe looks out over the garden he spent so many hours in. Inside, it's warm, light and designed entirely around her, a space that's unmistakably her own, while keeping her close to the family she wanted to see more of.
