Back to Skye we go!!

🛣️👷‍♂️Highland Council is pleased to confirm that the contract for the Link Road on the Isle of Skye has been awarded to Strath Civil Engineering Ltd.

The £1.9 million contract for the construction of the last section of the northern distributor road around Portree will begin in 2026, thanks to funding from the Scottish Government and the Highland Council.

The road is expected to be open during the autumn of 2026.

Orkney 2 - 1 Sutherland

It wasn’t meant to be for the girls yesterday playing against a strong Orkney side in hot conditions. Orkney were lucky to get their first goal after a clearance from the Sutherland defence ricocheted off their player and went in.

A well placed Bethany Sutherland goal brought the team back into the game after a powerful attempt from Erin Johnstone just seconds before was denied. A fantastic performance from both players who were clearly hungry for the ball, taking any spills and rebounds.

Orkney settled the score at 2-1. Well done to their squad.

Lauren Ross was player of the match today, with a solid shift in defence. Lauren has been a pivotal player this season, playing with composure and real knowledge of the pitch and players around her. Lauren’s family were able to come across and watch and she certainly didn’t disappoint the supporters. Well done Lauren! And thank you Coach House Bar & Restaurant Dornoch for the player of the match awards. Lauren is sponsored by Strath Civil Engineering Ltd. Thank you for your kind support!

Despite a disappointing score line, we had a great day out, celebrating the community spirit of our club. Players’ kids and plenty supporters in tow we made a day of it and thank all the people who have continuously showed up this season to support. We finish 5th in the league this season and look forward to preparing for our cup final against Shetland to be played next month.
