Japanese Knotw**d
Japanese Knotw**d can be managed in a number of ways depending on the site, the extent of the infestation and the client’s requirements.
For those looking for an immediate solution, excavation and removal can be carried out to remove the affected material from site. This can be particularly suitable where building works, landscaping, development or a property sale is planned.
Alternatively, herbicide treatment programmes provide a less disruptive, longer-term option and are carried out during the plant’s active growing season.
During the winter months, once the foliage has died back, herbicide treatment is no longer effective as there is no active leaf growth to absorb the treatment.
However, excavation remains a viable option throughout the winter, meaning works do not necessarily need to be delayed until spring.
