This second video takes you behind the design and construction of a project we're proud to have delivered, the first and only ICF house in Brookmans Park.

We are specialists in designing properties using the ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) system, working with one of the best-performing products available worldwide. The result, a stronger, more energy-efficient building envelope, built for long-term performance from the ground up.

The entire walling system was built from the basement underground up to the wall plate using the ICF system. The benefits of this system are endless.

A BESPOKE REPLACEMENT HOME IN MYMMS DRIVE, BROOKMANS PARK

We’re pleased to share one of our latest projects at Mymms Drive, Brookmans Park — a completely bespoke replacement dwelling designed around the needs of a private family client.

The house is spread across four storeys, including a substantial basement level with a swimming pool and spa area, home gym and w**e cellar. Each of the upper floors has been designed with its own terrace, making the most of the views across the rear of the property and creating a strong connection between the house and garden.

One of the features that makes this house particularly unusual for Brookmans Park is the full-height lift shaft, providing access to all four levels of the property. The combination of a basement and lift serving the entire house is something rarely seen locally.

The construction is also quite different from a typical new-build. The house is being built using ICF (Insulated Concrete Formwork), a specialist construction system which provides a highly insulated and structurally robust building envelope. It’s an approach that is still relatively uncommon in residential construction in the area and adds another interesting element to the project.

Our role through the project has covered much more than just the initial design. At Signature Buildings Ltd, we have worked with the client from the early design stages through planning and into construction, providing:

👋 Hi everyone, I thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I studied Building Surveying and Construction Management at the University of Reading back in 2007, and since then I’ve been lucky enough to build a career doing something I genuinely enjoy. Over the last 15 years, I’ve worked across architecture, planning, construction detailing, project management, party wall surveying, and even developed a number of my own residential projects.

During that time, I’ve been fortunate to work on hundreds of projects across South Hertfordshire and North London. No two projects are ever the same, which is one of the things I love most about this industry. I’ve worked on everything from small family home extensions and renovations to luxury multi-million-pound new builds, flat conversions, basement projects, rooftop developments, hotel conversions and high-end HMOs.

I created this page to share some of the projects I’m fortunate enough to be involved with, showing the journey from start to finish, the challenges along the way, and hopefully providing some useful insights into the world of property, architecture and construction.

Outside of work, my favourite role is being a husband and dad to my two daughters. As a family, we love exploring new places and trying different foods whenever we get the chance.

I’m also lucky enough to work on projects in Cyprus, which offers a completely different and exciting perspective on architecture and construction.

The Times has revealed the most expensive roads for houses outside London, and Brookmans Avenue in Brookmans Park has been ranked 6th!

I feel incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to design a number of the beautiful homes along this road over the years, and to still be working on projects there today.

Having attended both schools in Brookmans Park, I’ve seen first-hand how the area has evolved and improved over time. That connection makes working on projects in the village particularly special, and some of the most enjoyable work I get to be part of.

Great architecture isn’t just about buildings — it’s about creating homes, communities, and places people truly value. Seeing Brookmans Avenue receive this recognition is a reminder of the lasting impact thoughtful design can have.

BEFORE AND AFTER - We are proud to have designed this two storey rear extension and created a pitched roof space over the existing extension in Brookmans Park, Hertfordshire.

We completed the full design package from concept to completion. Householder Planning Approval was achieved first time.

Building Regulation Drawings were created and structural calculations. Ready for the contractors to complete the works.

Before and After …


Featuring one of my favourite projects in Brookmans Park where the original house has been totally transformed inside and out. A whole new appearance has been created by repositioning windows, changing the external materials and a small dormer constructed over the garage to create an enlarged dual aspect bedroom.
