Every life is unique. Every farewell should be too.

At Rowland Brothers, we believe a truly exceptional funeral is found in the details. From the first conversation with our arrangers to the final journey, every element is considered, coordinated and carried out with the utmost dignity and respect.

What you see on the day is only a small part of what we do. Behind every funeral are hours of careful preparation, caring for your loved one, arranging vehicles, flowers, music, bespoke service sheets and personal touches, liaising with everyone involved and ensuring that every detail comes together seamlessly.

With everything under one roof and more than 150 years of experience, our families can place their trust in one dedicated team from beginning to end.

Because no two lives are the same, no two funerals should ever feel the same.

At Rowland Brothers - every detail matters.

For families looking for a more traditional and distinctive way to say goodbye, a horse-drawn hearse can be a particularly meaningful choice.

There is something very special about the quiet pace and sense of ceremony that comes with a horse-drawn funeral procession. It allows the final journey to be taken slowly and with dignity, creating a moment for family, friends and those along the route to pause and pay their respects.

For some, the choice may be rooted in tradition. For others, it may reflect a loved one’s connection to horses, the countryside or simply their wish for a more timeless and personal farewell. Whatever the reason, it can add a beautiful sense of occasion to the day.

Horse-drawn funerals can also be personalised through the choice of carriage, horses, floral tributes and procession, helping families create a final journey that feels truly fitting for the person they are remembering.

At Rowland Brothers, we believe every funeral should reflect the individual. Our team is here to talk you through the choices ayailable and help you create a farewell that honours your loved one with the care, dignity and attention to detail they deserve.

When someone you love passes away, it can feel as though
every decision needs to be made straight away. In reality,
there’s usually more time than people expect.

In the days following a bereavement, we’ll gently guide you
through what needs to happen and when. There’s no pressure
to have all the answers immediately, and you don’t need to
make every decision at once.

We encourage families to take the time they need to think
about what their loved one would have wanted. Often, the
most meaningful farewells come from having the time to
reflect, rather than feeling rushed.

At Rowland Brothers, we’re here to answer your questions,
explain your options and support you every step of the way,
giving you the reassurance and guidance you need when
you’re ready.

The sun finally came out for the Rowland Brothers Foundation Summer BBQ, providing the perfect setting for a wonderful evening spent together.

Guests enjoyed an evening of activities, including archery, axe throwing and rifle shooting, before coming together for a BBQ. It was a fantastic opportunity to relax, catch up with familiar faces and welcome new members to the Foundation
community.

The Rowland Brothers Foundation was established to provide ongoing support to individuals and families following bereavement. Alongside our counselling services, support groups and regular walks, events such as these play an important role in bringing people together, creating opportunities to build friendships, share experiences and find comfort in the company of others who truly understand.

Seeing so many people enjoying the evening together was a wonderful reminder of the strength of the Foundation community and the positive impact that connection and
companionship can have on the bereavement journey.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special. We look forward to welcoming you to another Rowland Brothers Foundation event soon.

Sometimes the greatest comfort comes from simply
walking alongside someone who understands.

Our bereavement walks, led by Justine through the The Rowland Brothers Foundation, offer a safe and supportive environment for those navigating grief.

They provide an opportunity to connect with others, enjoy gentle conversation and spend time outdoors, knowing you are not alone.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces on future walks.

Choosing a funeral director is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we’re grateful to know that Stephen felt supported throughout every step of the journey.

His kind words about our Purley team reflect the care, guidance and professionalism we strive to provide to every family. Knowing they never felt rushed into making decisions and felt supported both before the funeral and on the day itself means a great deal to us.

Thank you for placing your trust in Rowland Brothers Funeral Directors. It is a privilege to help families create a meaningful farewell that truly reflects the life of their loved one.
