I am an upholsterer who has taken pride in developing as an artisan craftsman since 1989.

Originally a grass roots apprentice, I built my career within the same company to position of Head Upholsterer with lead responsibility for design, pattern creation, and teaching the next generation of upholsterers.

I am proud to have been part of the significant history of industry and manufacture in Lo

ng Eaton, a small town in the East Midlands. From its lace roots, it turned to upholstery in the early 1900’s and is now recognised as the UK centre of quality upholstery manufacture. In more recent years, I have developed a passion for breathing new life into vintage upholstered furniture. Also having a keen interest in the environmental approach, in 2022 I made the decision to go it alone and establish Dandelion Designs.

Thanks to all our fabulous customers, we are now booked up in the workshop until January! Hard to believe as we’re heading into our next heat wave, and more than two thirds of the UK are in drought!

🎄 HOWEVER!! If anyone would like their dining chair seat pads reimagining in time for parents, grandparents, sons, daughters, aunties, uncles and cousins to descend on the Big Day, we will be able to fit these in around our larger projects 🎄

🎁 We even have fabric offcuts in stock that you are welcome to choose from for FREE! 🎁

🛋️ For any customers looking for reupholstery of anything larger, we are now booking into the workshop from the week commencing 4 January 2027 🛋️

It’s been a while since we posted, as this year has topped all previous years for client commissions. We’re so thankful to you all for trusting us with your much loved pieces, and allowing us to return them to their former glory.

People often struggle to see the potential in their old furniture….but the beauty of vintage and antique pieces is the inherent quality which forms the bones.

Here’s a beautiful example of a sofa given to us for free. With a little inspiration from Lisa, and some magic from Carl, combined with Clarke & Clarke ‘s 100% cotton fabric, Spencer and Edison, in the racing green colour way, perfection has resulted!

We are currently booking into September…..so dare I say it, Christmas bookings will be in the offing soon! Get in touch, you know where we are 🛋️
